"We have 1.8 million definite militia members coming,"

So that means you'll have 27 fatties in camo milling about awkwardly and going home by lunch.  Breitbart later uses a picture of another rally and proclaims it a success.

It occurred to me while responding in another thread:

The Constitution allows The People (in the form of their state governments) to call Constitutional Conventions, yes? So why have we skipped the remedies made available by the Constitution and gone right to "armed insurrection" which is explicitly NOT allowed by the Constitution?

And why are they claiming they're "protecting" the Constitution by staging a coup (complete with show trials for the old government by the new "ruling party") to rework it? Is no one eloquent or well-read enough to say "We have to burn the village down to save it"?

cameroncrazy1984: SlothB77: They'll protest outside the White House by day and set up in campgrounds and RV parks outside the city by night.

ugh.  the traffic here is bad enough already.  also, the area right outside the city isn't exactly rife with campgrounds and RV parks.

They probably only need like, one or two sites parking spots max.

Please don't use the Metro, go to any free museums, or use the National Mall while you are there.

Facetious_Speciest: "We have 1.8 million definite militia members coming."

Oh, you do not. Just stop. Leaving aside the militia bit (because most of us are technically members of the militia), this is simply not going to happen. It's absurd.

The likelihood of 1.8 million people descending upon the capitol for this event is only slightly more likely than an army of Jennifer Lawrence skinjobs from Eridani revealing themselves the day before and farking us all to a sweet, happy death.

Don't tell them that! The highlight of these things is when, you know, like thirty people show up and instead of getting themselves organized or chaining themselves to a gate or chanting or waving their signs or making impassioned speeches, they spend two hours milling around the planned meeting site trying to find the main group. Eventually it dawns on them that they are the main group, but please, let them have that sad little discovery on their own. Don't spoil the surprise!

Sometimes I wish these "2nd Amendment Solution" idiots would go through with it.

An armed attack on Washington DC by a bunch of arm-chair tigers with AR-15s wouldn't last long, as soon as the actual US Military was called in to protect the Capitol.

Then we'd be rid of the morons.

Two days later, somewhere between a few hundred and a thousand demonstrators convened on downtown Washington for the "Million Vets March."

Might have to adjust your expectations a little I guess.

In October, the "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally, led by a hodgepodge of conservative truck drivers, was held outside Washington, with the aim of arresting House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.). Organizers expected thousands of people to attend. Thirty truckers showed up, led by a woman who believes that Obama and Osama bin Laden are the same person. ("They have same height, bone structure, hands and ears both are left handed," she noted in a YouTube comment).

Missed the mark by a mile on that one.

In 2010, Kate Vandemoer, a birther activist, announced the Usurpathon, a "Rolling 'Velvet Revolution' to Remove the Usurper, et al," from office. The plan was to bring 10,000 protestors to the Mall, Congress, and the White House to lay siege to the administration. Two people showed up.

Comedy gold, Jerry!  Comedy gold!

"We have 1.8 million definite militia members coming," promises Operation American Spring spokeswoman Karen Smith

Even using the Glenn Beck attendance inflation constant, that's still at least 45 people.

Funny thing about these bajillion-man marches...

No one from Bumfark Iowa seems to realize that the DC Park Service has been dealing with this sort of thing for decades. Not a day goes by without "Lower Elbonians for No More Clean Cheese" or their equivalent marching on the mall or yelling through the front gates of the White House. It's daily business. They will then biatch about how the federally funded mall and metro didn't serve them well enough. Go figure.

But these clownshoes think they will convince owner-operators to block the beltway, unlike the other past 432 times that was a dumbass idea.

Codenamechaz: So by 1.8 million, I'm assuming they mean more like somewhere around 10 to 50 thousand like their last big "march" in 2010.

You are thinking of the march in 2009, which attracted a very successful crowd, as shown in the picture below:

latimesblogs.latimes.com

The liberally-biased mainstream MSM media tried to claim that only 10,000 were in attendance, but that picture proves them wrong. Then the more stubborn liberals in the media tried to dispute that picture with typically liberally-biased facts, such as the fact that the weather in the District of Columbia was overcast throughout the day of the rally, or the fact that the National Museum of the American Indian, which opened in 2004, should have been visible in a picture of that area taken in 2009.

The world has never been full of white people.  In the history of the human race, white people have always been a global minority.  A very vocal, vicious, angry, self-delusional, sometimes genocidal minority for sure, but a minority nonetheless.

The order of "succession", hoss. As in "to succeed [in office]", like Obama did for W or Johnson did for Kennedy.

They understand "secession" just fine.

Why haven't these people learned to not cite attendance numbers in advance? I mean, it's keeping the archival photo/photoshop guy at Fox employed, but it just leads to embarrassment.
