I'm enjoying watching the FReetards argue over how to feel about this. On one hand, Sarah Palin is a saint and infallible, to be held in regard over even Pope Franceist, on the other, John McCain is the RINO King, a traitor and the goddamn debbil.

There's your legacy, McCain.

Probably because he gives her free potatoes and tacos.

The reason John McCain is a RINO is because in the run-up to the 2008 Presidential election, when that brave American Patriot said that she couldn't trust Obama because he was an Arab, John McCain replied "No, ma'am, he's a decent family man that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues" instead of saying "He's much worse than that - he's a Muslim AND a Communist".

Best part...forever.  To the last of their days, they have to live with the fact that when presented with this woman, they voted to put her in the 2nd most powerful position of the executive branch.  They looked at this woman and saw a leader.  You can't drink that kind of shame away.

But that's why she loves Reagan.  Because he never took 1 action - NOT ONE!!!! - to incur more U.S. debt.

/mind you, if he did, it was only to beat those damned, godless commies.  which he did, he beat them singlehandedly, no thanks to sympathizers like Tip O'Neil.

She's regularly invited to speak at events such as CPAC. The party faithful can't get enough of her. You can try to marginalize her influence if you want, but no one is fooled.

And this is the perfect time to ask why?  She was chosen (and poorly vetted) because the McCain campaign was desperate, and thought that she would attract disaffected Hillary voters.  This strategy failed miserably.  They lost the election.  She failed and continues to fail to attract independents; even some that are still staunchly Republican just want her to go away.

I guess what I'm getting at is that whenever the GOP backs a candidate in order to attract independents, minorities, women, etc., their strategy fails miserably, due to that candidate saying and doing stupid things (like parrot Tea Party talking points).  How long will it take for them to figure out that in order to attract these voters in national elections, they may actually have to vet both their candidates as well as their platform?

McCain became a RINO in 2007 when he worked with Democrats to save the filibuster. Limbaugh and Hannity were actually launched 'anyone but McCain' campaigns in 2008.

The sad part of this is that it's hard to imagine ANY republican saying that line today...about anything.

They never will. They have an unquestioning faith in their beliefs and policies, and if something goes wrong it is because they failed to get their message across properly (probably due to the Lamestream Media). If they keep at it eventually the electorate will understand and join them.

I think her constant defense of McCain is Palin's way of keeping conservative groups off her back about running for office.  Conservatives LOVE Sarah Palin; they love everything about her.  Except for one thing: They hate John McCain and every time she has an opportunity, she defends him with a full and complete endorsement.  I think it's her saying "I don't want them to like me so much that they keep pressuring me to run (for Senate in Alaska or Arizona)".

I knew the score about a week after her debut when it was announced that Sarah "Abstinence only sex education" Palin's daughter got pregnant from abstinence only.

The best part of this is, saying "No, he's an honorable man" is basically smearing Arabs/Muslims/whatever she though he was as dishonest and deceitful.  So even when he's being racist, he's not being racist enough for them.

Actually, it's got nothing to do with that.  Conservatives consider McCain a RINO for three main reasons:

1.  When Republicans controlled the presidency and both houses of congress, anytime they made a move to implement anything rooted in conservative ideology, McCain would kick their legs out from behind with his "Gang of Eight" bullshiat - refusing to vote for the conservative plan and instead insisting on the "moderate" plan that he could take the entire credit for.  This went on constantly and basically ensured Republicans could implement nothing; he frankly served as the Democrats' 51st vote.

2.  When this was going on, the media pushed him to forefront.  He was entirely a media creation.  And why wouldn't he be?  If you were the liberals in the media, wouldn't you want the head of the other party to be the guy who partners with you to block everything his own party is trying to do?, and

3.  Every time he's in an election year, he spews the most conservative rhetoric known to man, then the instant election day is over, he's right back to "Joe Moderate".  Remember when he was "Just going to build the damn fence"?  I do; he doesn't, apparently.  He's the worst kind of bullshiat politician - he stands for nothing but his own power.
