Sanders, one of the few actual liberals in US politics.  This guy gets it.

Less than a year remaining of paying this lunatic's salary.  I wonder how many hours after she's out of office until she's working for Fox News.

Put a crazy person and a less crazy person on the Teevee.  Have them yell at each other.  Both volunteer their time in exchange for exposure.  Infinity times cheaper than actually sending a paid employee to research a story.

Gee, I wonder why Bachmann refused to explain her position regarding substantive policy items like chained CPI and minimum wage.

Could it be because she has absolutely no interest in policy or actually governing, and is only in politics to get herself enough publicity so that she can retire to a cushy position as a political pundit for foxnews?

Nah, that doesn't seem likely at all.... I mean, it's not like anybody has ever done that before.

Next lets have Stephen Hawking debate Sarah Palin!

Seriously folks, you put Bachman at the same table as Bernie Sanders to have a discussion?

I guess Bernie is a better man than me, I would have walked out of there and said I would come back when you can produce someone with at least moderate to average intelligence.

Yeah, well, even Fox News kicked Dick Morris out once they realized he didn't contribute anything of worth.

No button...

The only thing that gives me any comfort about the existence of people like Michele Bachmann is impermanence. I do wish that impermanence would hurry up a bit in her case, but I try to remain patient.

"Women are saying 'I can't even buy propane to heat my house..."

What the FARK is this shiat?

And farking Ann... That biatch got more traffic in this interview than Heidi Fleiss. I wonder if she feels happy after this single interview turned her into a floormat for Michelle Bachmann.

Nope.  Tickle fight.  You should have watched until the end.  It was awesome.

That is the Tea Party media strategy in a nutshell.

Michelle Bachmann's only goal in that was to try to turn "Economic War On Women" into a thing.

Women need access to that super low cost propane that only men can get.

Sick and tired of all this "job creator" bs. They act like there is some magical being that is going to put people to work out of the goodness of their heart because they got their magical elixer of lowered taxes. The only reason jobs are created is because there is a demand in the goods or services. The job creators don't need an incentive (lower taxes), they need more demand (a healthier economy where the money is not tied up by the few), so more people can purchase their goods or services.

Bachmann as most Republicans have no concept of cause and effect. What they want or should I say utter, contradict their previous position. Lower taxes for the rich has proven it is not the stimulus for job growth, but they cling to it like it is a biblical commandment.

Trickle Down Economics has worked wonders.

2014-01-28 10:06:40 AM
I love how she keeps hitting that "economic war on women" drum.  The Democrats have managed to get the "war on women" rhetoric to stick thanks to... well, the Republicans' blatant misogyny, so she adopts the terminology to refer to... well, nothing. Cargo cult politics at its finest.

It's more of an 'ON' button that, if operated correctly and frequently would calm her right down.  It's clear her husband has no idea how, and no one else is stupid enough to get that close to the crazy.

/ tie her down and give her a ball gag, and I'd consider taking (ok giving) one for the team.

She can't expand on them, they aren't actually hers or views as normal people would understand them. Just look at her record, she achieved NOTHING the entire time she was in office. Everything was a campaign, it's just a mishmash of buzzwords and vague policy statements that can fit on bumper stickers.

No, no, they have an excellent grasp of causality:

A. Say lots of derp
B. Accept Real Americans' money to "stick it to the libs"
C. Invest money in reelection
D. Rinse, repeat

2014-01-28 10:10:28 AM
Well, that was pretty much  exactly what I expected of it.

I don't know whether to be sad that CNN thinks Bernie Sanders' equal in the House is Michele Bachmann, or be sad that the GOP's version of Bernie Sanders is actually Michele Bachmann.

2014-01-28 10:14:11 AM
When Sanders said Republicans want to cut Social Security, Bachmann shot back with, "That is absolutely a lie. It's brought up all the time and it's a lie. Let's face it, Senator Sanders. you shouldn't be lying about what our position is."

www.truth-out.org

Never say you want to cut Social Security. Say you want to "reform" "entitlements."

2014-01-28 10:14:29 AM
You know what, make this whole concept of Bachman vs liberal Guy a TV show. And allow them to hit each other. It'd be more intelligent than Crossfire.

2014-01-28 10:16:33 AM
Frankly, I admire the restraint that Barry Sanders showed there.
