walktoanarcade: Lonestar:
Then there was the Elvis guy, who claimed that because he had an antenna on his roof, he was getting an Elvis song playing in the static on his, unplugged to the antenna and any receiver and anything else really, TV. He was adamant he was calling back and forth 5 times a day.

That is completely feasible. If his home was constructed in such a way and if the placement of the TV was just so, it's entirely possible that he was picking up an Elvis marathon on a radio station within the static signal on one of the dead channels. It's the same principle as holding onto the rabbit ears on an old CRT TV and maybe even doing some ballerina-like movements to get the right sweet spot for reception back in the day.

The TV need not be connected to anything in that sense because the dead channel is being fed the radio signal into the tube itself(by way of other components) through the air using nearby materials to "point it in."

I'm not an expert on this, but it's extremely common.  Of course it had nothing to do with satellites I will add, lest some farker think otherwise.

I didnt know Elvis guy had a fark account. LOL!
