Fano: Perhaps vampires are being used as a police force

Makes sense; they likely got the idea from the Nazis vampire SS units during WWII.

The story appeared on the jihadist website Kavkaz-Tsentr, and says the ban will be imposed by Russian security forces.

See... you guys could have come across as the rational, level-headed ones in the neighborhood, but then you

"The infidels and apostates have not explained in what way picking wild garlic in the forests... could endanger the Sochi Olympics," it reports

Of course they are removing the garlic. Russia only has the highest regard for blood sucking fiends:

Curious that a GIS for 'vampire olympics' turns up lots of photos of Gabby Douglas.

Why do I get this feeling that Putin is using "security for the Sochi Olympics" as a handy pretext for "cracking down on suspected insurgents" in the most extreme possible way?

Anyone who thinks America is a police state needs to take a look at what the Russian cops--police, not military, btw--are doing over in Krasnodar. And anyone who thinks America could never become a police state needs to take a look at what the Russian cops are doing over in Krasnodar.

On a more serious note, just how big of a death-wish do you need to have to go into this area for this event... the attack is all but inevitable... I count at least 3 pissed off religion of peace sects in the region that want to make a big show in front of the world audience.

...and any time anyone wants to look at the intrusiveness of the state to monitor its citizens, we only have to look at our good friends in Great Britain. Or Japan for that matter, in the sheer deluge of public awareness campaigns. The hyperbole used here is always good theater, and there ARE good reasons to question challenges to civil liberties here, often taken up for the good of "the children" or to monitor the "bad guys" but we are still amateurs at it. Ham handed at it even.

Cripes. I'm STILL waiting for the ACORN thugs that I was promised to beat down my doors and drag me off to a re-education camp when Obama won the election, thanks to my Republican registration. I could have used some hippy chicks to help me with the transition to a Commie-Islamo-Socio-Fascist, preferably somewhere warm like South Carolina or Florida. Maybe sunny California where the beach is nice.

I know that it's easier to scare folks, than win them over with tales of responsible governance, but at this point, the party is just driving a lot of folks away with the heavy laden rhetoric. It only illustrates that the leadership is bankrupt on actual ideas, and is just retreating the same tired crap that the NeoCons have been peddling for years, and while that does get the old folk's vote, it isn't bringing anything new to the party, and nothing but yes men who tout the tired, and broken party line.

There are still some folks in the party that I'd vote for, but they have zero chance of getting to the Big Show, and that is damn sad. Damnably sad, because I was really hoping to vote for Olympia Snowe for President by now. But the party isn't ready for compromise, and it's not looking for realistic and rationality. It's looking for theater, and campaign dollars, and it's reduced our politics into a sham.

Somehow I feel like the jihadists probably can figure out what possible reason the Russian security forces have for not wanting someone to endanger the Sochi Olympics.

Now there just all, "oh damnit, well they figured out our garlic bombing tactic...what's next?"

Depending on the legend/region, silver works on vamps as well. I'm still voting for figuring out as many ways to apply UV as possible though, seems the most likely to succeed. Also claymores/mortars/grenades.

... why are you looking at me like that?
