Netflix and Youtube alone make up more than half of internet traffic, both being incredibly and sadly SFW.  The glory days of porn dominating the internet are actually over.

Scrotastic Method: How do I upload from the internet, subby?

They meant upload (statistics, reported) from top torrent sites.  Few if any torrent sites support uploads TO them as far as I understand.

So the headline was mostly correct.

I know what they meant, but when you can change "from" to "to" and be 100% on the money and clear up any confusion, you do that. Because it says "upload from" just like my grandfather wants me to download his facebooks to the internets.

Every single torrent site everywhere requires users to upload to them. That's where the torrent file comes from in the first place. The data uploads/downloads happen in a torrent swarm via the torrent site's tracker, but the file that initiates that for each user has to be uploaded to the site by a user.

For music nobody cares about it's perfect. Oscar Robertson FLAC files? Yes please.

Not really.  I am not up on the technical details of trackerless torrents, but I'm pretty sure uploading the actual .torrent tracker file is NOT required.  I gather it points to the swarm, and the peers themselves host the tracker.  So no, no uploading at all really.

There's plenty of porn on Youtube, not all of it of the "legal in America" variety either.  It's just easier to find on other sites. (red, hampster, xvid, etc)
Netflix is more of the cut rate B movie "Nude Nuns with Big Guns" style of porn, so I guess that doesn't really count.

Funny thing... risking viruses, crap of all sort over paying a couple of dollars...  and now you've "outed" yourself for lawsuits.

Every time I hear someone tell me about "great" music free online via torrents, I know that it'll be soon that their computer will need a cleaning if not a full wipe/reformat.  That and the music that they claim is so great is usually a very crappy rip with an unreliable bitrate and crappy meta-data.

There's no way on TPB, which is the site in question, or any other site I've ever been on, to enter a swarm without downloading a torrent file. And they're all uploaded by someone at some point.

Never heard the name... Basketball player? (I'm not into sports, I have a life)... and FLAC is the overrated codec that hipsters listen to, swearing that they can hear the person coughing in a room across the street from the studio that the recording took place and that cymbals should make your ears bleed and only this codec can do such a thing.

2014-01-27 05:55:13 PM
That's quite a lot. It may be time that I break down and buy a pornagraph.

2014-01-27 05:55:28 PM
It's no mystery and it's not hipsterish.  To my understanding FLAC is simply lossless audio -- equivalent to the .WAV file of an original CD, no more and no less.  If I cared about audio I'd certainly use it.

No idea who Oscar Robertson is either.  :)

Wasn't the guy on The Six Million Dollar Man.

Getting porn from the Pirate Bay is like getting  hard-hitting investigative journalism from CNN.
There are much, much better torrent sites for porn than TPB, just like there are better sites for every other genre-specific media collection interest. Specialized communities are much, much more likely to get meta-data right as well. This is particularly hilarious as it applies to porn.

Not to be entirely off-topic, but the Demonoid.me trackers are seeding again. The web site isn't running yet, but if you left a torrent open in 2011 and the seeder is still around, you're probably getting data again.

Your ISP is likely being a stupid biatch and blocking them via DNS.
Simply change your primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 (google's open DNS) and you're set. Usually.

I will NOT torrent porn. I'll torrent other things on occasion, but porn is a no-no. There are too many "honey trap" torrents, and it's no fun getting a "pay us $300 or we'll see you in court" email from some jackass law firm... And this was WITH a VPN.

It turned out I had a DNS leak. Dammit.

Where does pirate bay upload to?

2014-01-27 09:56:27 PM
This isn't surprising. People don't like paying for porn for a variety of reasons -- they don't trust the site, they don't want their spouse seeing the charges on the card, etc. etc.

On the other hand the TV/movie/music industries have all gotten much better about cheap or ad-supported streaming content over the past few years.

I don't like paying for porn, because if I did...I'd be broke.

So, since I want to see more...I get to see more.
