That's disgusting.  She's a human being not an object for your lewdness.  Treat her with the respect she deserves.

/maybe now she'll sleep with me

She was much better looking with long hair. All the short hair does is make her massive overbite that much more pronounced.

/not studman. Would still wreck that

Sadly that's about it, but it is a pretty new concept (only happened twice and the dates are changing).  What they should do is set a day for this and stick with it (or not, keeping it open means you can keep the date on the weekend), then manage it like Extra Life so you have people tabletop game for 24 hours straight and the people watching donate to a specific charity.

I mean they already streamed the last on Twitch and I believe their Geek&Sundry Youtube channel.  Just go the rest of the way and start getting people to donate through it.

I just don't see her "appeal", and in Supernatural, she's the one thing that I groan about when she's on it.

She has rat-like features and her mannerisms are just flat annoying.

There's a group where I live that does this type of event a few times a year. It's a great opportunity to try new games (rather than rely on reviews from BGG) and have experienced players teach you how to play, as well as play classic games that are no longer in print.

It's like this. She's cute looking. Not gorgeous or hot, but cute. But she gets a hefty number of bonus points for being a redhead, a genuine nerd girl, being intelligent and creative, and for having what appears to be a sweet goofy personality.

She's the kind of girl that a nerd/geek drools over. You can talk D&D with her and she'll ask to join and know what she's doing. She'll know what you're talking about when you talk video games and share her own experiences with them. Musician nerds can talk shop with her. And she won't mind if you want to stay out of the sunlight.

The site helps organize events in places where gaming is not common.

Hardcore gamers have little need of it but people without a group could benefit from discovering that a shop in their town is holding a TableTop event.

I agree... She's the original "market myself to nerds" girl. But at least she's not some super-hot model faking it. From what I can tell, she actually is a bit of a nerd (though perhaps not anymore because she's famous, wealthy, and goes to parties with the popular people just like anyone else in the business).

Still, the whole idea of marketing oneself to nerdboys because they're perceived as desperate seems... unsavory.

*sigh* ok I'll bite, but only because it will give your self esteem an obviously needed boost.

Girl was Valedictorian of her class, started college at 16, was accepted to Julliard for her violin skills, got a full ride scholarship for her violin playing, created a widely popular and award winning webseries that she wrote several songs and music for, used that popularity to launch a web channel full of various shows that are quite popular with varied branches of nerddom. But no, she's got absolutely no talent at all.

I guess I'm just a bit skeptical on whether wil or Felicia are the kind of people who are actually pumped to play the game, or just sit around the board talking taking forever to take their turns because they didn't actually want to get competitive. Would be fun to find out and maybe be surprised.

Have you watched an episode of Tabletop games from Wheaton? Do, if you have no. They are ultra-competitive, the both of them. Day is more of the charming competitive, Wheaton is exactly as you'd expect him to be, snarky and sneaky.

The one for Munckin is particularly funny:

Just watch a few episodes of TableTop. Wil plays to have fun, but is still pretty competitive about it.

I just started watching it a few weeks ago and going through all the episodes released so far. Way more entertaining then I expected it to be.

Awesome didn't know about that. Good to see people who know how to play seriously, but not take it too seriously. Hard to find nowadays, and in a lady, even moreso. Most gamers either aren't actually there to game, or are there to win and that's it. Tabletop looks excellent!

The damn change from "Every Other Thursday" to "Every Thursday" on the channel built my hopes high and thoroughly dashed them when the same pattern of episode alternating with overly short gag real or  Not the Vlog continued. The editing is strange because Wil mentions having filmed some episodes many months prior and we see extended versions which still remove some portions; I would love to see multi-part episodes as was done with Fiasco and Dragon Age if this meant I had more overall content with a delayed ending or even delayed new game if the thirty minute format was retained. Has become my favorite show, and I have bought several of the games played just based on how fun this seemed; yet to be disappointed.

Oh ffs what is it with you and deciding that any girl doing nerd stuff in the media is all "market myself to nerds because they're perceived as desperate"? You've seen what I've mentioned about her in the other post I made. Add to that being home schooled up to high school, making her webshow about her experiences when she was a heavy MMO player and is known to be an avid gamer in general. How much more of a nerd pedigree do you want before considering her an actual nerd? Jackasses like you that seem to think a girl needs to live and breathe everything nerd from the time they're born scare girls away from nerddom almost as much as the neck bearded mouth breathers.

/yeah yeah your "girlfriend" or fiance, wife or whatever is a "true" nerd girl. We've heard it all before.

Does sound as though there are an awful lot of those folks who tend towards either shunning anything female in games because those are meant as marketing ploys towards male gamers, whether from some company or girl starving for attention, or becoming fixated since any girl who chooses to play anything with strategy has become the geek queen.

Those are, as you rather mentioned, exactly the types which turn any girl with even decent features who utters a word over Mumble into a unicorn. Felicia is attractive, intelligent, apparently quirky without being fake, and has a list of experiences and hobbies which at least matches my own in terms of nerd cred (outside of my lack of production and acting because... come on that isn't fair for comparing nerd curriculum vitae), and my honest hope is her growing presence, which seems to be if the contributors to Geek and Sundry are any indication, spurs this shift to where being joined by a female at the table is standard; in my house, half of our seats tend to be women... playing games... because of the invitation for playing games...

Surprisingly, given it's licensed material, it's genuinely a good board game. It does take up quite a lot of table space, though.
