(Sports Illustrated)   The real problem with the pro-bowl isn't that the game is an un-watchable parody of an actual professional footballs game, but that it turns selectees into greedy divas with an inflated sense of what they are worth to their teams   (mmqb.si.com ) divider line

IAmRight: /and the last time that the Pro Bowl was actually as bad as people make it out to be was two years ago - then Goodell threatened to eliminate it and people actually started trying again

I sat in the end zone. The game was a farking joke. The mascots' musical chairs skit was more entertaining.

Whatever they do to coax some competitiveness out of these guys, I'm for it.

/Listen to me, complaining about being at the Pro Bowl. In farking HAWAII. in the middle of WINTER.

SilentStrider: The only QB not to throw an INT?

Nick Foles.

Booyah.

I know it's the Pro Bowl, and therefore not "real" football. I know that being Co-MVP of it is equivalent to a "Best Effort in Recess" trophy. I know that there's no way in hell that anyone could ever maintain a 27:2 TD:INT ratio. I know that, outside of PFM, there is no QB in the league that isn't eventually figured out to some extent by defensive coordinators.

But that doesn't stop me from being excited to see what the kid can do in a full season, especially when he comes into training camp as "the guy", and Chip will also be able to spend the whole offseason planning the offense around Foles' particular strengths and weaknesses.

Arkanaut: The pro-bowl should be counterbalanced by an anti-bowl.

Ok, have the 2 worst teams play for the 1st round draft pick, loser gets last pick behind the superb owl winner even. Also make it somewhere outdoors and cold that no one would want to be playing in jan/feb like Greenbay or Chicago or Cleveland.

Kinda bullsh*t for years like this when the Rams own the Redskins' pick so Washington has zero incentive to make any effort.
