That rental car says he wasn't speeding, the breathalyzer says he wasn't drunk. Still, can we deport him?

IIRC the police report didn't even say he was speeding.  It was a dubious claim of drag racing at 60mph.

Not if you're special.

This also applies to bars and clubs where, usually, people who are under 21 aren't allowed in.  But, if your face has ever wound up on a magazine cover, they tend to turn a blind eye for some reason.

Sounds like the cops were using SOP (frame it up real nice, boys) and the perp had enough money to tell them to go fark themselves. Average poor slob? Off to jail with ya.

It's not a hard and fast rule. I used to work for the Big E and at least for us back then  active duty military as well asclaimants hit by people insured by companies like All State were an exception down to 21. But leisure travelers/renters still had to wait to they were 25.

This is twice now that the cops have tried to manhandle the Biebs and scare him straight. You'd think that he'd get the message that maybe he ought to straighten out a few things. If the cops were harassing me, in two different states no less, I might rethink my strategy of being a total dickhead.

Be nice if this had happened to me... The cop who pulled me over was training a new officer and really wanted a bust. He told me that I had passed all of the field sobriety tests, but since I HAD had something to drink that night, he was going to bring in his supervisor, who ran me through the tests a second time. I pass these as well, but they decided to do the breathalyzer and I hit at .09. I didn't get everything dropped though, and the ONLY think I was charged with was the DUI, no drag racing, none of that other bullshiat.

Rectum damn near killed em: but he wasn't speeding

TFA says he was doing 60 on that street. Seems pretty fast for a residential street.

Uh, yes, both 18 and 19 year olds are teenagers, though also adults.  They are not mutually exclusive.

In Wisconsin if you have any alcohol in your system and get pulled over at 18, 19, or 20 it is a DWI. (or at least it used to be 15 years ago and I can't imagine a state got more lenient on such things.)

His PR team is doing all the right things.  Now all he has to do is put out his Sgt. Pepper's and everyone will look back on him as a rebellious badass.
Except he's not putting out a Sgt. Pepper's anytime soon.  He's not ready for the theme to Beetle Bailey.

I do not like Beiber. I believe he will end up killing someone. The judges that let him off should be arrested for reckless abandonment when this happens. I also know that a lot of cops are lying thugs and paid-off goons.

I guess it would have been a great time for Al Queda to bomb us at that arrest location that Thursday night.

claims include police records that Bieber "stunk of alcohol", despite the alcohol levels in his bloodstream only measuring at .014.

Does that matter when you are not 21? Underage drinking is still a crime last time I checked.

In Florida the underage limit is .02.  Because Florida.

The other issue is apparently they weren't speeding at all.  They were going like 24 mph in a 30 and weren't racing.  The cars were rentals and had GPSes equipped so they could tell what speed they were going at what time.

I don't think you can get charged with having alcohol in your system as a minor, just possession of alcohol by a minor.  Same goes for the weed he apparently admitted smoking.  They could have tried public drunkenness or something along those lines, but it would have been pretty hard with that BAC level.  If he didn't have the beer/weed on him, they can't charge him with possession.

That is what the police said. The rental car company that the car was rented from puts a device on the cars to monitor and track them. The information from that device show that he never got anywhere near 60 mph, and was under the speed limit the whole time.

I figured that they would at least try to get him for minor consumption, but after thinking about it, they got caught in such a huge public lie with the allegations of speeding and drag racing that they probably decided to drop the whole thing. After all Bieber can afford the types of lawyers that will publicly destroy them if they tried to press the issue after they had been caught in the lie about the drag racing.

I got to see a minor argue that point to a judge once.  Having alcohol in your system counts as being in possession of it. :)

The way it works in this state --you get an MIP (minor in possession) if you're underage and have any alcohol on you, not sure about the breathalyzer. If you're driving, underage, and blow anything above a .02, you get some kind of charge that is not a full-blown (ha) DUI, but like a minor DUI. "Minor under the influence" or something. I assume that's what they were trying to get on Bieber.

Can I just go on record here and say that the whole arrest was bullshiat? I saw surveillance cam video that showed the two cars and their accompanying black SUVs at the time of the stop. They were driving at a normal rate of speed all together, with the bodyguard's SUVs blocking other traffic from racing up and passing their famous clients. The cops initiated a stop based on "drag racing" even though the cars had never once exceeded the 30 mph limit.

His breathalyzer results were too low to be charged under the law as well, but the cops had to try to charge him with something or they would lose face.

Bieber needs a spanking and/or rehab but at this time he had done nothing wrong. He simply doesn't have anybody in his life to say no to him and make him stop the douche behavior.
