Stoker: I sometimes wonder if the military actually runs the government and IL is their puppet. And they are weeding out his family for a coup (no one to take a seat at the throne). One day his most trusted Military Chief will walk up and put a bullet in his head and the country will be ruled by a group of dictators.Just a thought.
EJ25T: FTA: "Among those allegedly executed from Thaek's family are his brother-in-law and the country's ambassador to Cuba Jon Yong-jin and Thaek's nephew and ambassador to Malaysia Jang Yong-chol. The two diplomats were both recalled from their positions back to North Korea earlier this month. "You know, if I had learned that a high-ranking family member had been executed recently, I might just not go home and disappear permanently. Just sayin'
Duke_leto_Atredes: I would like to care, but i just dont. In the end all governments are democratic, enough people need to rise up and wipe this turd out. it is their proplem we have our own aand need to stop being the world police/911
Warlordtrooper: To be fair, shouldn't all countries have the right to rule themselves as they see fit?
Saborlas: This is what happens when you raise someone to believe that he is literally a living God.

The two diplomats were both recalled from their positions back to North Korea earlier this month.So...if you were related to Thaek and were actually NOT in North Korea, why go back when "recalled" when you pretty much know how the play ends?
EJ25T: You know, if I had learned that a high-ranking family member had been executed recently, I might just not go home and disappear permanently. Just sayin'
show me: Good. He should kill everyone even remotely related to his uncle.
Great Porn Dragon: Kim Joffrey Un
on the road: For historical perspective, there was a similar incident in China during the Civil War.Although the Japanese had invaded China and occupied a large area, Mao and Chiang Kai-shek were fighting each other. Temporarily headquartered in Xian, Chiang Kai-shek's generals wanted to establish a truce with the communists and join forces to fight the foreign invader, but their opinion was overruled. The generals then basically held hostage Chiang and forced him to agree to a truce. However, at least according to the tour guide, Chiang had at least some of the conspiring generals assassinated after the war along with their families.
zimbomba63: That magnificent bastard read Stalin's book. That's how the pro's do it.
Haoie: What if one lone child survived? A great revenge story?
colon_pow: it's like he's living in his own video game.
Two16: wxboy: Probably was the type of uncle that would give lil' Un socks for Christmas. If he keeps killing everyone related to him, there will be nobody left to hand the country over to when he dies. There's your problem; all of the "Dear Leader"s (or whatever the current THUG calls himself) will "Live Forever" because of "I'm-God-On-Earth" reasons.
patrick767: wichitaleaf:You do know that most of those "poor grunts" turn out to be very successful people and some even ceo's or congresspersons. Most become very successful people? Citation needed.Others become dead, crippled, psychologically traumatized, long term unemployed, etc. It doesn't mean they're bad people. War does horrible things to people./support the troops by not sending them into unnecessary wars in the first place
LrdPhoenix: Saborlas: This is what happens when you raise someone to believe that he is literally a living God.Not necessarily. It happens just about anytime someone is handed near absolute authority. There is a good reason that the US Constitution bans Bills of Attainder. While the English Crown mostly used it to execute people and seize their property without much of a trial, it's basically that when someone is found guilty of a serious crime, they and their entire family can be declared tainted by the crime, and the family is punished too by having their property seized. It's not that far of a logical leap from declaring an entire family tainted by a crime worthy enough to execute one of them to considering them all for execution.

Abe Vigoda's Ghost: China would have a problem with this. And not just the obvious military action so close the their border. They would also end up with a whole lotta NK refugees.
dryknife: "The two diplomats were both recalled from their positions back to North Korea earlier this month."I think I would have stayed where I was.
Satanic_Hamster: show me: Good. He should kill everyone even remotely related to his uncle.I know what you're going for, but he's not blood related to his uncle.
CleanAndPure: Misread article headline as:"Kim Jong un-executes uncle"Wondered how you go about unexecuting someone.
