'Merica, where the President is both a secret Muslim terrorist from Africa, and horrible guy for risking zero American lives to kill Muslim terrorists from Africa. I guess I'm just a libtard who doesn't understand "logic".

logic doesn't enter into it when the missiles "miss."

Most peaceful, peace-loving President ever!

Before you cheer the attack on Somalia, at least google something first:

Somalia has resorted to piracy because Chinese fishing boats are illegally fishing in Somali waters... and not just illegally fishing, but massively overfishing, causing population collapse.

Without a navy, Somali could not protect is own fisheries, and so that central pillar of their economy collapsed.

SpinStopper: A missile to take out one guy?  isn't that sort of like using hand grenades to get rid of ants?

Maybe he was thinking 'revenge is a dish best served cold' while grasping that peace prize and laughing like an evil maniac?

hardinparamedic: Can we start a WhiteHouse.org petition for them to launch a drone strike upon Justin Bieber?

We'd break the WhiteHouse.org site as badly as the health care site was broken. Seriously, that thing would hit over 1 mill signatures in about 30 minutes.

Come to think of it, maybe we could do one to get the little shiat actually put in jail instead of Lohan'd for his little DUI schtick the other night.

Two wongs don't make a right. Or a justification.

I find it funny that people like to harp on the Nobel Peace Prize.

While I agree that it is silly to give a peace prize to the president of a country whose military budget which dwarfs every other country's in the world. Bit it is not like he asked for it or made any promises that the US would be any less aggressive when he received it.

I guess when you hate a guy you just rag on anything.

What are you talking about? It's a perfectly cromulent joke/criticism.

"Jeff got the Peace Prize last year, but then when somebody tried to mug him he punched the guy in the face! LOL hypocrisy!"

This.  Most of the "scandals" being trotted out by the right wing propaganda machine fall apart once you scratch an inch below the surface which is why they've been squealing with glee when the ACA website wasn't working.  OMG!  An actual failure!  Sure it was up and running within a month or so but finally they had something they could (sorta) pin on Obama.

The drone strike complaints are just ridiculous though.  Wait a minute, GOP, you're saying you don't want to go after Al Qaeda anymore?

When did Jeff promise to be peaceful? If I award you the the very prestigious "Farking Canuck Peace Prize" does that mean you're a hypocrite if you ever get in a fight? (No. There is no monetary prize with this award)

Like I said ... he never asked for it and never made any promises of being more peaceful than his predecessors. There is no hypocrisy.

AngryDragon: DrPainMD: ThrobblefootSpectre: DrPainMD: What I believe is irrelevant. On December 7, we were two weeks away from bombing Japanese troops, and they knew it.

So what you are saying is  after they bombed us, we started fighting back.  Okay.

What I'm saying is that we started building air fields and training pilots a year and a half before December 7th. We would have started bombing them in the middle of December whether or not they bombed Pearl Harbor. Attack was imminent, which gave Japan a valid reason to bomb Pearl Harbor.

That couldn't possibly have been because Japan had already been in a war in China, occupied Manchuria for 5 years ,and was saber rattling about the rest of their "Economic Co-Prosperity Sphere".  No.  It was all American paranoia that caused the Japanese to bomb Pearl Harbor.

**sigh**

I'm aware of the back story. How is any of that relevant?

I think you are probably trolling.  But if not, it's relevant because you stated that Japan had a "valid" reason to attack the U.S.  As if the U.S. was engaging in some sort of unilateral or first strike military aggression.  No.  Not even remotely close.  What the U.S. was doing was trying to help the completely defenseless (by contemporary standards) citizens of China against some of the most loathsome atrocities in recorded history.  To state that anything Japan did from 1938 to 1941 was "valid" is either a troll, or makes you a truly loathsome person.

Your remix of history is a blatant joke.

There is no leap of logic to suggest "The supply chain-ally of my enemy is my enemy also"? How long have armies been attacking the supply chains of those they were fighting?

Funny how so many people were so strongly opposed to carrying the War in Iraq into Iran, even though the Iraqi mujahedin (and Saddam himself, in his spider hole) were supplied with food and explosives directly from the Iranian government.

/you'd think the Iranians wouldn't be so keen on helping the guy that used WMDs on them

I think that the moneyed interests that Iran had in Iraq after Saddam was out of the way kind of fostered Iran's change of heart regarding Iraq. But why not, considering it was Iraq that attacked Iran to start the Iran-Iraq War to begin with. It has also been shown that the more financially stable and interconnected a country's economies are brings the odds of conflict down to nil. So the prospect of Iran and Iraq increasing their stability and decreasing their odds of wanting to engage in conflict which would interfere with that a good thing. Saudi Arabia is a good comparison to show us how that works. They are financially stable and they haven't started shiat with anybody in a long time. Yes, I remember where the 9/11 hijackers mostly came from. And they do play with the politics of neighboring countries, but what international power broker doesn't?

Might be cheaper then sending in commando unit, especially if there were loses.  Also, there might have been timing/window of opportunity issues.

Cheaper yet would be for us to mind our own business. Can't biatch about them killing us if we're going to be killing them.

lots of people had that opinion before they bombed pearl harbor.

You can't possibly believe that we were minding our own business up until Pearl Harbor.

i will say this as politely as i can.
i have major disagreements with lots of farkers.
i admit that i can and have trolled a thread or two, because i was so disappointed in the general tone of the posts.

but you might be the most retarded farker i have run across since my very first account back in 2003.
please give me your mom's email address so i can tell her how much of an idiot she is raising.
