Oh right. Obama is a Democrat. They don't kill women and children.

Just U.S. Ambassadors.

Gyrfalcon: DrPainMD: Popular Opinion: DrPainMD: Satanic_Hamster: SpinStopper: A missile to take out one guy?  isn't that sort of like using hand grenades to get rid of ants?

Might be cheaper then sending in commando unit, especially if there were loses.  Also, there might have been timing/window of opportunity issues.

Cheaper yet would be for us to mind our own business. Can't biatch about them killing us if we're going to be killing them.

lots of people had that opinion before they bombed pearl harbor.

You can't possibly believe that we were minding our own business up until Pearl Harbor.

Actually, we pretty much were. Certainly our hands weren't clean in our own hemisphere, and the oil and scrap embargo on Japan was hurting them plenty; but the US didn't have much to do with all the colonies in Asia or the dustup in Europe prior to WWII.

You can believe what you like, of course, and being you, you likely will; but everything prior to Pearl Harbor was all on Europe. That was THEIR fault.

Read "A Man Called Intrepid" and see if you still think the same way.

Because of you I feel much better about it. Thanks for being a partisan twit.

You see, I had no problem with Any president bombing enemies that have declared constant warfare on USA.

But I do have a problem with any president who lies to get us into a war boondoggle. I'm looking at you LBJ and George W Bush.

Weatherkiss: Mad_Radhu: Music's biggest night... to be disrespected. A heartfelt fark YOU guys.

Yeah because it's Obama's fault he forced the media to cut in to the Grammy Awards to break the news of his bombing of Somalia. Yeah, Trent. I'm sure Obama thought that bombing Somalia was the perfect way to disrespect you and your hack artist friends and not because he's the farking President of the United States who thought it was a good time to erase a senior terrorist leader off the face of the planet.

Because Al-Qaeda's operatives work on a schedule to make sure they're in firing range during your pop music circlejerk shows on TV. And Obama clearly controls the media and goes out of his way to inconvenience your friends in the music business just to spite you.

Finally, someone admits the truth!

What I'm saying is that we started building air fields and training pilots a year and a half before December 7th. We would have started bombing them in the middle of December whether or not they bombed Pearl Harbor. Attack was imminent, which gave Japan a valid reason to bomb Pearl Harbor.

Every Hellfire missile fired costs $60k, not mention associated personnel and maintenance costs involved with the aircraft and its base, and those all trickle back into the economy, in addition to make super awesome explosions on hundreds of innocents sympathizers and a couple guilty brown people. The real question here is, why do you hate America?

That couldn't possibly have been because Japan had already been in a war in China, occupied Manchuria for 5 years ,and was saber rattling about the rest of their "Economic Co-Prosperity Sphere".  No.  It was all American paranoia that caused the Japanese to bomb Pearl Harbor.

That's a neat infographic. So the overwhelming majority of all deaths were neither children nor civilian, meaning they were adult enemy combatants. And the vast majority of those have come under Obama's reign, as adult civilian deaths decreased, meaning it was Bush that killed most adult civilians with drones. What's even odder is that there is that category for children other than civilian - meaning there were enemy combatant children that had to be targeted.

This needs to be further emphasized.

FTFY.  Just like any other political thread.  If Obama does something, the GOP will always say it is bad and the rank and file will bleat the talking points here.  Nevermind they bleated against the exact same points when it was their guy sitting in the chair.

Me?  I don't like drone strikes for the same reason I don't like Stand Your Ground laws.  They are a smack in the face to our espoused ideals of due process.  They vest in a single person the power of judge, jury and executioner which is way too much power for one person to wield just on their say so.  And of course, dead men tell no tales so make sure you kill 'em good so they can't tell their side of the story.

Most of it has been facile, bland, the same rounded words and rounded sentiments, the same soft accusations and excuses. I see him enjoying the sound of his voice as the network newsman leans forward eagerly, intently, nodding at the pearls, enacting interest, for this is the president and he is the anchorman and surely something important is being said with two such important men engaged." Lol lol lol.  :))

Like their "valid" reason to attack China?  That's why we were helping China build an airforce in the first place.  Because of Japanese atrocities there that made the european holocaust seem civilized.

1) Japan slaughters and tortures 3 million chinese civilians
2) U.S decides to help China build an airforce

Your interpretation -> Japan has a "valid" reason to attack the U.S!!!!  derp.

Might be cheaper then sending in commando unit, especially if there were loses.  Also, there might have been timing/window of opportunity issues.

I have a mild complaint about drone strikes, in that in my opinion there is an increased chance for civilian casualties. I also am mildly upset about bombing things in other countries without getting their permission first, though I also feel this complaint is irrelevant in cases like Somalia.

That being said, as I pointed out with that nice graph up-thread, I do understand that the vast majority of drone strikes only hit legitimate targets. Of my list of complaints about Obama, the drone issue is near the bottom.
