I think I know why he might have left.

Her, "I gave you my kidney, and you won't even do the dishes?"
Her, "I gave you my kidney! The least you could do is go watch with me!"
Her, "I gave you my kidney, and you didn't even bring me flowers today!"
Her, "I gave you my kidney, and you won't even give me the remote!"
Her, "I gave you my kidney, so you should give me some jewelry!"
Her, "I gave you my kidney, so...hello? Where did you go?"

Well lady, there's no legal way to get it back, but maybe you can make him want to get rid of it. Kill yourself and then haunt the kidney till he begs to have it removed. Trust me, if you try this idea, you'll have no more troubles.

Gyrfalcon: Can they even DO that?

Given the bias against men in the court system... Yes I would believe they could do that.

This.

I can totally see this going down. Some women, if they even do the smallest thing for their man, will make them remember it and try to use it to guilt them for as long as they can. Now imagine if she is that type of woman, and she just gave him a kidney that saved his life. She would think and act like she owned him.

She should be glad she wasn't fully rejected.  A small part will remain with him, deep inside.

sjcousins: Fafai: sjcousins: To be fair she isn't actually trying to get her kidney back, despite what the headline says. She regrets donating it to her husband who promptly left her, which is perfectly understandable.

FTA: "I hate him. If I could, then I would take it back and give it to someone else."

No, she's not actively  trying to get it back, but only because she knows that's impossible. She would if she could.

So? She hates him for leaving and regrets giving him one of her kidneys. I'd say that response is pretty normal.

not really.  him leaving was a possibility when she gave him the kidney.  presumably she gave it to him because she didn't want him to die.  Mission accomplished.  In hindsight there are lots of things in my life i would have done differently but at the time they seemed to be the best choices.  If i spent all my time worrying about what might of been i'd probably end up fat, alone and possibly the focus of an article in the The Mail. Who wants that?

Vector R: He moved his belongings out of their marital home one evening while she was working a night shift at Tesco.
He also took the TV and stereo before posting the keys through the letterbox without a note or letter, she claims.

Diiiiiiick.

Article doesn't mention if he washed the dishes before dumping her, so I reserve judgement.

hilarity and contempt ensued

She's got a nice rack now, why stick around with a loser like him?

This woman lost over forty pounds to give a kidney to her husband, not counting the kidney, which must have been prodigious.
