Different, but not off-putting.

Ditch the gray paint.

I'm not digging the style that much. Looks like a Mazda and a Viper had a baby.

That looks like a Morgan and an R8 had a derpy baby.

At that price point, why would you even bother?  You can go 911 and have one of the best cars in the world.

Or get a GT-R and have a bulletproof supercar, not something built in a shed.

This one is CG, too, by the way...

I never get sick of proper super cars, but cars like the GT86/FR-S are more interesting to me, personally.

It's certainly unique looking. I can't decide whether I love it or hate it.

Too bad it'll never get produced.

(All carbon for 100k, engine and power figures, but no performance numbers, no estimated launch date, and "pre-production" status? It'll never see the road.)

Did that Mexican "supercar" ever make it past the prototype phase?

Yes.  Top Gear even reviewed it.

Basically gave them a "Nice Try" review.

Dear god that is hideous. Why do all the "super" cars have to be ugly as sin? It doesn't need a "radical" design to go fast. Saying it goes 200 MPH is almost meaningless now. So does the farking GT500, or a BMW E60 M5 (which is a hell of a lot more practical that pretty much anything else that can do 200 MPH). And most people that are interested in the actual driving would get a real drivers' car, like a GT3.

Gaudy cars for dumbass rich people with more money than they know what to do with need to go away.

"Canadian supercar"..... now there's two words I didn't expect to be next to each other.

It's probably just me, but the dude on A Cervello triathlon bike in the second slide show picture... how farking staged can you make a picture? "let's have this casual guy with his back pack just cruising around on a ten thousand dollar bike checking out our Canadian supercar"

Well OK then

Oh, I know, I liked the episode- but was under the impression that the example they drove was the only one in existence, hence "prototype phase".

I've always liked the look of the Bricklin, but the automatic transmission was a deal breaker for me. Now that they're cheap, it might be worth picking one up and fitting it with a proper gearbox.

Didja notice the article says nothing about the transmission, suspension, or steering? That may be where they're planning on saving costs. If so, I'll believe that car can drive fast on a real road without ending up in somebody's living room after the first turn when I see it.

Interesting, since Top Gear gave some respect to the Corvette and Cadillac.  Jeremy actually was a little impressed, on curvy roads.

With that behind me, I agree with subby about fast cars during winter.  Some folks only own one car, and made that car a sports car.  It just makes me wonder about those folks.  We are haven't record snow, and the plows are not keeping up.  Yet, I have seen Mustangs, Camaros and Trans-ams running around on the roads, which is a little scary because it will take little to ditch those cars.  One of my coworkers have taken to walking to work, because it is safer than driving her F-body.  When she first bought it brand new, I expressed my concern, but she insisted she would be fine driving in the winter.  This winter has really turned things around, as the slowest cars on the road, are the fastest during the summer.

Noooooooo!  Had a red 1973 Opel GT and it did not look like that, you blind fark!  And the girls thought it was cute, and me too, by association.  RAWR!!!  I had fun with that car, and in it, too.  You wouldn't think possible, in a car that size, but it did happen.

I'll stand against the tide on this one.

Unconventional? fark yes.

Something completely new instead of the same old rehashed wedge shapes from McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Audi, etc? Absolutely.

I'm absolutely sick to death with the wedge shaped cars we've been seeing for the last 30 years. Yes, I understand aerodynamics. Yes, I understand downforce and front grip. I understand using a channeled diffuser to increase grip in the rear, too.

However, not every farking car has to do 220+ mph! Look back at the Miura, the E-type, the DBR5, the 250 GTO, the Jensen Interceptor or the Opel GT. All insanely fun cars meant for drivers who wanted to drive them and you could actually drive them on existing roads. A car that was meant to be fun, that sounded amazing under WOT and made you want to get out of the house and go for a drive, anywhere, just because it was such a pleasure.

Enough with the boring, soulless "super" cars that are known only for speed. Show the world you know how to design beauty, passion, spirit, elan and wonder and that you have the engineering to make it happen.

It's not just staged.  It's meta-staged.  I'm pretty sure the car itself is just a CGI model photoshopped into the picture.

I know a bit about supercars as I have access to a vintage cars garage. Now, I can usually tell what car I am looking at, usually. But one day, on the highway, I saw one. A Bricklin Sv-1. I didnt know what I was looking at, as I came back up the rear, I didnt know if i was looking at some weird kit for a Fiero. Then I saw the name and googled it, and was amazed to see one on the highway, riding at highway speed.

Awesome cars, I dont know if there is any that are still running.
