This is why it's ATI/AMD for life!

They need local bus driver.

I feel bad for the guy and his family but what really sucks is the pic that was released to the media is of him in a friggin' bow tie. Talk about adding insult to injury (or death).

Because you sold your soul to Satan?

Admit it. You like Intel HD graphics. Just because. -hipster glasses-

Sorry to hear it, but he clearly was a good man.

Forbidden Doughnut: duffblue: On a serious note: if you're ever on the subway and somebody falls onto the tracks, let them die. There's no way you can help them.

IIRC, there's a danger of getting electrocuted; so no, I'd leave them to their fate.....

The third rail will kill you pretty much instantly. 500 amps DC, iirc.

He must've been subjected to some major GeForce.

The machines on the train was running the linux kernel.

Nvidia never cooperates fully with Open Source software...

Nvidia has a marketing department?

Probably not DC.

After an accident like this, it's understandable that his family won't want him on display.

Once again, reset the Mass Transit Death Clock.

umad: Watubi: This is the exact sort of thing I would have done.  But, then I had kids and now I'm a wussy and fear everything I'm an idiot.

FTFY.

If somebody wants to kill themselves, let them. This guy in TFA can tell you why.

Well, not anymore he can't.

/may as well ride down with everyone else.

Same thing when they're in a river of molten lava, because man, they're gone.

It's Killtrain.  There was a month last fall where this shiat was happening every week.

/Just saying.  I could NEVER live further away from work than I do now.  Because right now, if Caltrain blows up, I get on the bus and take an hour to go 6 miles.
//Instead of 35 minutes on Caltrain.
///It's a 15 minute drive if there's no traffic, but since Palo Alto has no road network, it's more like 45 minutes to an hour during commute hours.

This is sad, bu that is one great headline.

At least he didn't get caught in the crossfire

But watching them go Gollum style is rather more entertaining. Especially if you push them.

Not that I would know anything about that...

/check please

Third rail systems are usually 750V DC. It's overhead lines that are normally AC (usually 25kV). I've head of DC overhead lines, but not AC third rails, but I'm not an expert.

In this particular case the line doesn't seem to be electrified at all, it's all a bit moot anyway.

Why do I feel like the first guy on the tracks was probably trying to escape a market survey?

KillTrain runs diesel-powered murder/mayhem assault vehicles.

They have been talking about electrification, but that's all tied up with the high speed rail boondoggle.

They also just recently did a huge renovation of the Santa Clara stop, which was involved in this unfortunate "trespasser on the tracks" incident. It used to be kind of dangerous, I guess, if you were totally not paying attention. Now, it takes some extra effort to get killed there.

Bow ties are cool.

Has anybody set up a register for gifts for the family?  If I were to want to move some value, how could I find the proper address?

A lot more than that, I would think.  The monorails at Disney World will pull upwards of 1500 amps @ 600 VDC from a standing start, and they're a lot lighter than city transit vehicles.  The zone breakers don't trip until around 6000 amps IIRC.

HOTY material!

/Although I think ATI has WORSE drivers, thank you very much.

Have they tried uninstalling and reinstalling him?

Was the train the PCI Express?

His wife wanted them to hide his real name but ran afoul of their Anti-Aliasing policy.

Poor guy, tries to save some schmuck and ends up all GUI.
