Pretty sure that Vegas game was a pre-season game.  And that was a while ago too...  A lot of current fans weren't fans yet.

There has been some new rumours of Bettman having a refreshed stiffy to have a team in Vegas.  So I guess that's back on the table.

I think the hockey fans finally biatched enough... and turned out enough lately we've nearly had one a day for nearly a couple of weeks... a couple of days with two... like today.

Everyone: If you like seeing/reading hockey threads, clicks, and posts in every one you see, might have you seeing more....

Well, we already know the Winter Classic is going to DC. So if they do another Stadium Series (let's hope not), the Avs could possibly host the game at Mile High.

Read today that the NHL get tax breaks, being a 'non-profit' organization.

Therefore once again...  Fark Bergman and his $8.3 mil a year salary.

Just like Dodger games, traffic sucks, fans will get into the game during the first intermission, leave during the second.

The Rockies mascot Dinger could be burned in effigy and the Lombardi Trophy could be paraded around before the game. It would be a perfect Denver sports team trifecta.

I'm watching that one right now to pass the time until the Ducks play.  It's been pretty ugly so far, or pretty good depending on who you're rooting for.  The fans in the stands are pretty grumpy though...

No, no, blame the coach.  When that doesn't work, blame the GM.  When that doesn't work, blame the owners.  When the team still suck after all three have been changed, blame the entire friggin' organisation.  It's called the Edmonton Failover System.

New York, Jan. 4, 2035...The NHL announced today that they would be playing the first of their long-awaited highly anticipated Indoor Arena Retro Series in Toronto on Dec. 22, 2036 between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the heavily favoured Nezahualcóyotl Gladiators.

"Playing indoors, that's, like, weird, man," said Toronto forward Colin Goodman. "My dad says they used to do it all the time. Must have been so dark. How did they see the puck?"

Gladiators head coach Pepe Sutteriguez was asleep and unavailable for comment.

Some of it has to do with balancing out the bracket, all the rest is money.  Even with Vegas slowing down there is still a lot of coin flying around.

Does Vegas have a good youth hockey program? That's a good way to build a future fan base. STL did a great job with that, for example.

Prediction: Seattle and someone else not named Las Vegas gets expansion teams and if Phoenix fails, you'll have the Las Vegas Coyotes.

Something's gone badly wrong when these players are constantly trying to play a defensive game-hello, PK "always offensive" Subban?-but I'm not sure if it's the coach losing the room or if Therrien's got the guys genuinely on board with playing a style they're just not suited to.  (I'd say that if you have to suck, at least suck in an entertaining fashion, but A, we've got a farking Norris winner, Markov, and some damn good forwards, we don't have to suck, and B, the Oilers have proven that method doesn't even work as entertainment.)

I don't think a team will move into the new NYNY arena, maybe if they build it downtown. Also, the Orleans tried to kill the Wranglers, it didn't work.

Many of the youth hockey programs are post NHL teams... (I'm really bad with names) Wasn't there a kid from LA drafted way early last year?

Dear NHL:

Will you please knock it off with this baseball stadium crap?!?  Baseball fields = fan-shaped.  Hockey rinks = rectangular (w/ round edges).  Therefore, using simple geometry, one would expectedly conclude that outdoor hockey is best suited for FOOTBALL STADIUMS.

Sincerely,
Hockey fans who are electing to stay home so they can actually *see* the action
