I'm surprised that after they went through all that trouble bloging about it; did notice or know the inside case is signed by the development team, including Jobs.

(Heh...I wonder if I could sell mine on ebay with the "Signed by Steve Jobs" tag).

The very first version had two torx screws in the "handle" area, which were recessed far enough that none of the drivers available at the time could reach them. I had to buy a few for my co-workers, and then shave them down using a grinder. It's been sitting in various drawers for.. *calculates years* *curses*

well anyhow...

There's a beautiful quote by Steve Wozniak in the Byte interview about the Integrated Woz Machine on the tear down

http://www.brutaldeluxe.fr/documentation/iwm/apple2_IWM_Spec_Rev19_1 98 2.pdf

1982 and Wozniak is saying Apple is making a big mistake by not releasing its spec sheets to hobbyists...

A working 128k mac will go for several hundred dollars

So we really are going to drag this anniversary out for a month, aren't we?

Honestly, it's a nice little respite from the Boomer-nostalgia "50 years since X, 50 years since Y, 50 years since Z" that has been going on for the last two years and will continue for the next 10.
