"The Twitter account apparently linked to the Syrian Electronic Army group claimed responsibility for the hack."

Wait...so twitter allows these guys to still maintain a twitter account after claiming they hacked another account? I'm sure that's against ToS... I have a feeling there is some bad reporting going on here.

So when CNN starts reading tweets, they'll be inadvertently reporting news.

Well, then I'm glad I get all of my news from Fark. I never go to CNN for news. Now, if I ever want to get some liberal leaning opinions and propaganda spin.....maybe.

/ that is a big maybe

In CNNs defense, they do need to report less news.  The 24 hour news cycle is partly responsible for the mental health issues in the US

That's giving them too much credit.  That would imply their slanted coverage is on relavent topics.  CNN seems focused on providing slanted coverage of irrelavent topics.

Not only that but one Twitter account was clearly "hacked" and another suddenly claims responsibility...What's to say the second wasn't also "hacked".  Who is to say that ANY Twitter account isn't compromised?  Maybe we should stop using Twitter to....ah, who am i kidding....

I don't think slanted is really the right word for CNN.  MSNBC is more of a Fox 2.0.  With CNN, I get the feeling that they want to be right but being first is more important, so they just decide that whatever rumors they hear are facts and run with that.  Slanted coverage implies more competence than CNN seems to have.  They seem to just be flailing around.

Am I the only one who thinks the chances of the Syrian Electronic Army having any relation to Syria is pretty slim?

CNN isn't liberal. CNN simply repeats unquestioningly whatever the state wants it to say, whichever party controls the state at the moment. Back in the Bush days, they were big Bush supporters and shilled for the Iraq war with the best of 'em.

Sometimes CNN changes its allegiance from one part of the state apparatus to another, but they will never intentionally undermine it.

If you want a news channel that actually tries to undermine the state - watch RT! Yes, it's Russian government-funded. And if there's somebody who has an interest in undermining the US state, it's the Russian government. Makes sense, right?

Really? All I ever see US "news" stations do is breaking news, and weather. If you want news go to BBC or Al Jazerra or something.
