That's a whole lot of girl drink drunk right there.

That's...not what Maryland or Massachusetts looks like.  Being from Michigan, I've never heard of our drink, ours should be the hummer

2014-01-24 09:06:10 AM
Connecticut: The Limonata (Vodka, sparkling lemonade, blood-orange juice)

I'm calling bullshiat on the list right here. CT should be a martini, or Scotch, neat.
None of this feathery stuff.

You order an orange gin anywhere in public in PA and your ass will get laughed out of the bar.

Stupid site is stupid.

Map is non-clickable.
Links to offsite recipes.
Offsite recipes don't match what original site says.

Not really sure my state's signature drink is Lynchburg Lemonade, at least not in East Tennessee. I would have to say moonshine or some kind of corn based liquor. And not the crap they sell to tourists, but real made in the woods, honest to god bootleg moonshine. Not the 20% crap you buy on your Gatlinburg trip that tastes like flavored vodak

2014-01-24 10:36:37 AM
Drink: The Golden Cadillac (Creme de cacao (white), Vodka, Galliano, blueberries, water, sugar, and lemon juice)
Why?: While the cocktail was created in California, it's famed name (Cadillac, of the Motor City origin) and taste has made it a popular beverage in many bars in Michigan.

Sure it is...

WI should really be a brandy old fashioned

And IA is either beer or whiskey

Yeah, that was the first thing that popped in my head.

My favorite cocktail:

2 oz Good Scotch Single malt
1 oz the same Scotch Single malt
1 oz the same Scotch Single malt

Combine ingredients in a glass. Enjoy.

KS:
Drink: The Tech N9ne KC Tea (Hennessy cognac and sprite)
Why?: OK, so obviously Kansas has plenty of awesome drinks, but what could possibly be cooler than a drink

First, great job naming the "Kansas" drink after a semi-famous resident of Kansas City, Missouri.

Second, how great is it that Kansas of all states gets the "Gangsta" (relatively speaking) drink?

Who put this list together anyways?  I suppose we should be grateful they didn't just choose some Wizard of Oz related concoction for KS,

Maybe interesting only to me, but 28 states did choose an official state drink.  21 of those chose milk.  None of them are alcoholic.

You know who did designate an official alcoholic drink?  D.C. and Puerto Rico.

I have had a Rum Runner at the bar that invented them in Isla Morada, Florida.  Pretty tasty!

I'm from Oregon and I've never heard of that drink in my life. Our state drink is *insert any microbrew here*.

West Virginia
FTA:
Drink: The Persephone (Bourbon, whiskey, triple sec, lemon juice, and egg whites)
Why?: This holiday inspired, champagne-based cocktail was featured in the West Virginia Gazette by its style team
From the referenced link: Pomegranate juice, Grand Marnier, sparking wine, Orange twist

None of these things match or make me think of WV.

Uh, the Minnesota drink is only available in a country club in Wayzata? Where do I begin with how this is complete bullshiat?

2014-01-24 02:20:07 PM
Rohypnol and Soda?

2014-01-24 02:27:37 PM
A mint julep for Kentucky? I'll allow it. Though, bourbon and ice is best.

The alternative would be a Duck Fart? I always figured that our state drink was actually beer... Or bootleg corn liquor made in the caves 85 years ago.

Yeah, either of those are way more Minnesotan.

I can't begin to tell you how FAILtastic it is that Maryland has Massachusetts' nearly exact shape, islands included, when Massachusetts has a geometric...something...that could vaguely be in the shape of the state's points.

Without getting into the graphically challenged graphics department that complied this list, while some of them are okay (Alabama Slamma, mint juleps, Lynchburg lemonade, etc.), some were nasty (salmon bloody mary????), some were completely wrong (the entry for Ohio's Velvet Elvis...), and some ignored some really obvious shiat (Long Island Iced Tea??? Hello?????).

So you know, Buzzfeed.

\not sure the Cape Codder would be our drink, but whatever
\\Guess the starting point for all of this would be knowing what comes close to the most famous locally produced/originated alcohol

You think that's bad?

Drink: The Chicago Fizz (Dark rum, ruby port, lemon juice, sugar, club soda, and egg whites)

For Chicago. And Illinois.

Jezus-fark.

well, the sazerac is my favorite of the 50 listed.  and i live in new orleans.  sounds like i have lived my life in accordance with what matters.

/ but, one of my favorite cocktails may be a sidecar ( cognac, Cointreau, lemon)

2014-01-24 08:09:17 PM
If the person sitting on the bar stool next  to you orders any one of those drinks, look around and see if there are any women in the bar.

/ some seriously sissy drinks on that list.

// Double Jack on ice for me please

Another vote for this author being drunk on stupidity.

There's absolutely no way, anybody, ever would say the brandy old fashioned is not Wisconsin's top cocktail.

Stupid list. The Sombrero (Allens Coffee Brandy and milk, aka Ass In A Glass) is Maines official cocktail.

Ok, I'm confused.  You mean there is such a think as a non featured partner Buzzfeed link that isn't repeated every single day?
