I love the fact that decades after it first Brought humor into this world, Blazing Saddles is still going strong. So sad that it's a movie that would NEVER be able to be made today.

Could you repeat that, sir?

I think the "You said rape twice" and "I like rape" quote would be appropriate here also.

Not mine... Not only have I never search for the fool, I haven't even clicked on his DUI story yet. If it's based on my searches or cookies, they really need to fix their algorithm.

Seriously, though, those ads have NEVER matched anything I have ever come close to searching for, I didn't even know that they were supposed to be targeted ads.

Doesn't mean they're all targeted. If they don't have any inventory that meets your targeting criteria, they'll show you whichever ad is bidding the highest.

Or whichever ad most closely matches. I'm thinking this is similar to how Amazon suggested "Harry Potter 7" with every single other book when it came out, because it was so correlated with every other book out there, it screws up the matching data. The Beiber news story is saturating the news right now, so everyone who looks at news is going to get an ad for his products, since that is the product generating the closest correlation with this set.

Pants full of macaroni!!: Saiga410: I have never understood the addition of methodists to that list.

As a Methodist, I've always figured there's two reasons: one, it's pretty funny and unexpected considering any Methodists you'd find around about that time, and two, a good number of Methodists were the rather evangelical followers of Whitefield, and were noted to very violently bust up bars, saloons, and even shady and oppressive company operations in the west. We've had a schizophrenic history.

These days we just have covered dish suppers, go out for breakfast with the older men, and play bridge. And have blessedly short 15 minute sermons. Well, until we get even cozier with the Evangelical Lutherans and other freaking crazies and forget we're basically Anglicans at heart. Then it'll be all Whitefield fire-and-brimstone again, and the joke will come full circle.

Thank Gods! Space Balls, while all right started his trajectory downward. The only thing that saved him was rehashing his old musical movie about Broadway into a Broadway musical rendition of a musical movie about Broadway, which he then turned into a movie musical rendition of the Broadway musical rendition of a musical movie about Broadway.

I thought Men in Tights was OK. Not great, but still OK. Never be another Blazing Saddles or History of the World, though...

Yah, I was really hoping that the previews for History of the World Part 2 they showed at the end of HotW pt.1 was really coming out. Jews in Space was slightly more epic than Hitler on Ice.

LOL, me too... Hitler on Ice even made me laugh my ass off when I was 12 or so and saw that for the first time... Now I need to watch it again, it's been awhile and I can't remember the Jews in Space part very well.

It's kinda fun to watch Mel Brooks when he's just sitting on stage bullshiatting. I know there's one with Car Reiner, but I know he has at least one more out there, too.

Sure it could.  It's just difficult to get the humor right.   Movie 43, for example, tried to delve into shock humor...they failed miserably at it, but no one kept it from being made.
