Wow, looks big; re-size furr shure.  A Work of Amanda Birk, one of the 2 Young Lady MP WishToBes going thru Army basic at Ft LostInTheWoods MO, that micromedic led us to.  She wrote kind brief letter that arove today, thanking me for having done same, included this. If MPs dont work out as hoped, she may have a future in Art. This at ft of Lucky Lookin' pg13.

WOW!  That is really cool.  I'd say, from the content of the work, she is under a lot of stress and pressure.

"Aaaaaaarrmy Training, SIR!", as the line from the movie Stripes w. Bill Murray goes.

And yet, under this much pressure, her ability to sketch very skillful and precise graphics isn't affected, probably even goes UP a notch or two.  This is a lady who thrives under adversity, possibly NEEDS stress to bring out her best efforts when challenged.  Not the sort of soldier you ever want to back into a corner.

tigerose: Invisible Oranges have you check with local schools for library work? I have one librarian for 7 schools. I am the " library media assistant" but basically I am running the library. And my Librarian boss is awesome. She trusts me. She is allowing me to organize things..now..if other admins appreciated me like she does? I would be in Hogwort heaven...

I have been checking for assistant jobs. My BF's mom (middle school teacher) attempted to get me a job for her district around Thanksgiving, but principal was adamant about the teaching cert. Pretty sure it's required.. but I've noticed a lot of school districts here are looking for librarians. Would be nice if they made exceptions.. or even just encouraged their teachers to get their masters degrees.

My next round of snooping around will probably be for corporate library jobs. Could be interesting. Training and orientation were pretty positive today. My supervisor seemed impressed that I asked a lot of relevant and pertinent questions. Even though the job is mainly subbing for sick/vacationing librarians, it looks like I'll be getting trained multiple times per library branch (5), which = $$$ in the short term. Doesn't hurt!! Still waiting to hear back about apps and one interview I did last week.

Good luck to others also looking for jobs. Ain't always easy! Keep at it and don't give up!

This is something I am working on for school..for all you library folk out there..

I'm sure the staff can appreciate your work, especially instructions for cataloging. I helped put together instructions for copy and original cataloging for an international school in Russia (they all spoke English.. I'm not THAT good) and the staff were very grateful for the help. Good cataloging can really help everybody find appropriate materials.. especially in nonfiction. :)

Brian Blessed's Bastard Boy: Good morning everyone!  Been a pretty nice week here at the B4 home.  Kittiehs are getting some extra attention after being neglected yesterday while dad was away on a date.  Spent all day trying to make our way through the Blue Ridge Parkway, only to find almost all of it closed because of ice and snow.  So we spent six hours driving around the state and just generally enjoying the day regardless of our plans kind of being changed.  Finished up the night wanting a cup of coffee, and entered the Huddle House.  Probably the worst cup of coffee I've had in a long time, and she agreed.  So our day of hiking pretty much washed out, had horrible coffee, and had a great day regardless.  So today is going to be spent taking care of the kittehs, because they were not too happy about being alone all day, and especially not getting their wet food and ham treats until almost 11 last night.  Great day all around, and another is planned in two weeks.  Hope all are well here and enjoy a great weekend.

I'm glad you both had a good time, even though the best laid plans of moose and men, etc.

How is last Caturday's war wound?  Are you undergoing impatient rehab?

Finally reached the end, HURRAH FOR KILOKITTY!

ALIEN! - Every day that I can hear from you lifts a little worry out of my heart!  Life sucks, and your life sucks even worse, but please hang in there.  It may be unfair of me to want you to continue to survive in a painfull and scary life, but I draw courage and motivation reading your comments.  If only I had access to my old powers...

Library closing soon.  Will go home and think about Alien's situation, funny captions, and how to stay warm and stay fed while not being sick all at once.

A very healthy, warm and happy week to everyone one here.  See you next Caturday.

For sure. I told my interviewers that I was very interested in moving up the ladder with the city. At the end, they told me it hadn't even felt like an interview to them. That we had just been chatting for 30-40 minutes.  Definitely took that as a compliment.

If the FT city library route doesn't pan out I may just get my teaching certificate. Plus if I get a job at a title I school I believe I could have my loans forgiven. That would be teh awesome. o.o

No therapy needed.  Just a concussion with a follow up today that went fine.  Headaches are gone, but the face is still sore in some places.

It's supposed to go down to something like 1o kelvin overnight :-\
I've got an oil heater up against and exterior kitchen wall that has a water pipe running through it. The same pipe gave me trouble a couple of weeks ago during the last deep freeze. I'm hoping that warming the wall will be just enough to avoid a repeat.
