Handsome feller.  I'm betting more than 46%.

Funny, I saw torbie and calico...this pile of floofy is the kitten of a tiny all-black Mommy and a Maine Coon Daddy (who may or may not be full blood - you are welcome to try and catch him.) She was part of an unexpected litter.

Now,

Convert to Win7 ?

Coming from Vista, I specifically searched for a Win 7 op system for my new laptop.  I'm still getting used to the bells and whistles, but so far I like it. Win 8 is supposedly more geared to tablets than to laptops.

CSB: I came from Vista which was just a whole lot of time consuming crap updates and Adobe Reader conflicts that bogged my system into paperweight status. It has also been corrupted by Malware.  Malware  I had originally eliminated by installing Norton2012. Had to travel the the next week, took the laptop with & it worked perfectly. Came home, no internet for me. Comcast's craptacularly moronic first level CS INSISTED it was a Dell problem after 2 hours of "unplug X, wait 5 min, plug back in," which FYI, I had already done before I called.   Then had to RELOAD to a system restore point Dell insisted I go back to (i.e.prior to Norton install). Delightful irritation point: after 5 hours of back and forth (including the system restore) with a high level Dell tech inIndia (not joking, he was great) and a midnight trip to the Starbucks parking lot checking for wifi connectivity, we deduced it most definitely WAS a Comcast problem. After my irate call to Comcast the next morning, immediately escalating to a supervisor, she asked me if the "standby" light was lit on the box, (it was,) told me to push a button and presto! A 3 minute problem took 7 hours of infuriating dead ends to correct and corrupted my system to boot.

Final result: the restoration entrenched the Malware even deeper in the system and I can't fix it. However, I can still edit on it, (can't afford to upgrade Audition and my version isn't compatible with Win 7,) so it serves it's purpose (albeit
decrepitly at times.)

predle: There's nothing like being stopped in traffic, looking in your rear view mirror and seeing a Honda Ridgeline coming towards you with no driver. The guy was trying to get something off the floor and sat up just in time to see his car smash into mine. I'm fine, my car, however, is pretty crunched up.

[predle576.smugmug.com image 562x450]

I feel you. I was 17, driving my Mom's 1980 Buick Riviera, aka "the land yacht," back to work with a coworker, (lifeguards on a drizzly day.) I was stopped to make a left and waiting for oncoming traffic to clear.  By chance I look in the rear-view and see headlights coming on fast. I immediately swing the wheel to the right and start to take my foot off the brake. My passenger (unaware of the oncoming threat) begins to say "What the hell are y-" BAM! Thankfully we were pushed straight in our lane and the car was built like a tank. I look again in the rear-view as does my co worker who starts yelling, "Free chiropractic for life!" We were rear ended by an extremely sheepish Officer of the Law.

spinach gunk: John Buck 41: spinach gunk: How's Buddy?

He's not too bad, thanks.  His appetite's still a bit weird, but nevertheless he's eating a healthy amount each day.  Still likes his prescription food (when he feels like eating that is).  Taking all his meds like a good boy.  Things still coming out the other end OK.  He doesn't want to do much walking these days, we only ever walk as far as the street / front garden of the building now, but there are still all kinds of people and things to sniff and bark at out there so I take him out fairly frequently for his amusement.

At night he "walks" with his nose and ears.  We go to the end of the path, stand very still, and for a few minutes we sniff/listen as far as we can to the east.  Then we turn around and do the same thing to the west.  Once we are satisfied that all the pertinent information has been gathered, we go home for a treat and a nap.

Hip hip hooray!!! Sounds like Buddy has found an equilibrium :) Hugs and squeezes to you both.

However, I wish she would 1) Stop playing with her food and 2) stop bringing me live foods to play with. I mean I really appreciate the thought and all. And it's very sweet. I also really wish she would rethink her plan to bring her live foods to me while I am sleeping in my bed. I really appreciate the gesture but mouse with cat spit sauce is not on my menu of favorite snacks. She thinks it makes the perfect midnite treat, especially since I didn't even have to get out of bed to enjoy play-kill-eat time.  She then let it escape so she could hunt it all nite. In the bedroom. Of course. Because she wanted me to share in the fun. She is one thoughtful cat. She finally killed it about an hour ago and is now tenderizing it. Her method of tenderization is throwing the thing all over hell and gone. She is currently bouncing it off the ceiling and batting it like an All Star big leaguer. The look of pride on her face when it landed on my keyboard was priceless. It brought a tear to my eye (mostly because I was screaming like a little girl but that's beside the point).  Like I said, I really love my cat.

PS She is really mad at me now because I took it away from her.  I'm sorry, I really can't like the sound of crunching mouse bones. Nor do I like playing mouse head ping pong or squish the carcass with your toes.

Hahahaha!!!!!!  I'm so sorry, but I laughed so hard at that!!

Don't be sorry, I'm laughing, too...now.

I would post a picture of what a mouse hunting cat might look like but I am unable to figure it out at teh present time. I have the basics but as a professional grade tech-tard it will take a bit before I figure out how to make them smaller than my ass head.

When I was a child there was a band named Three Dog Night. It apparently got its name from a New Yorker Cartoon about a hostess showing a guest a room and saying that it was going to be a cold night so she put an extra dog on the bed. Or perhaps it came more directly from the idea that natives measured the cold by how many dogs you need to keep warm.

This obviously works with cats also.

Cat are superior to dogs in many ways, but it takes a lot more cats to cover a Queen-sized bed.

Cats: Better taste. Less filling.

Dogs: We have you covered.

I remember Three Dog Night, and the story of how they were named.  We used to sit on the school steps at 7th grade recess, spinning old 45's on the portable.  Had more of TDN than others.  Still rock out to them on a regular basis, MP3-style now. :)

My guy kept saying "I didn't see you."  I'm in a burgundy land yacht with my brake lights lit on an overcast drizzly day. Seriously?? They paid out in cash for the repairs to avoid the embarrassment.  Bronxville, NY is a very "fah-fah" town (serious big money.) Yet  NEVER ever go to their hospital if any of you have the misfortune of being injured in lower Westchester County, NY. It's the worst hospital in the county (even the residents agree.) Repeat after me "Take me to New Rochelle." It's a teaching hospital and one of the best in the area.
