So Florida is effectively without meaningful representation in the Senate 75% of the time. How's that working out for ya?

I share my fellow Florida Farker's pride in our "special" tag.  Every time it appears, I stand up and sing "Oh, Flo-ri-da!" to the tune of "Oh, Canada!"

/my dog gives me a deeply concerned look, when I do...

Yeah, Wisconsin is worse, but hey, any excuse to bring out the Florida tag and that oh-so-farking-witty Bugs Bunny.gif for the rest to point at and mock.

Keep laughing. We'll be busy not paying state income tax, wearing shorts and flip-flops in January, and fleecing all the tourists that head south to warm up and pay homage to the Mouse.

How's that polar vortex working out for you? -20F with the windchill? Snowpocalypse? Winter Storm Xerxes?

It's gonna be in the 70s here this weekend. I think I'll go to the beach.

Billified: There are some things the Republicans get right. There are some things the Democrats get right. Florida got it right this time by having representation from both sides in the Senate.

Since 1960, Florida has voted for the loser of the Presidential election only twice, picking Nixon over Kennedy in 1960 and Bush Sr. over Clinton in 1992. Their only two "bad"  picks were Carter and the aforementioned Bush Sr. (Bush Jr. was up against very weak opponents for both elections, Carter can be argued since Ford was weak as well. Clinton was clearly the better candidate when Florida picked Bush Sr. over him. Nixon-Kennedy is a wash since both were great Presidents for their time.) I, like many, many Floridians I know are just as disappointed by Obama as we were by Bush Jr. Voted for both, feel let down that they didn't turn out to be the great leaders we thought, still wouldn't have voted for the other guy.

Florida is America in concentrated form. We are equal parts blue and red, educated and not, urban and rural, north and south. We have the Redneck Riviera and Key West.We even have an east coast and a west coast that argue between themselves over which is the best coast. I don't really care that you Farkers use it as a joke, when I see the Florida tag, I beam with pride.

The really fun thing about FL is how quickly you can go from $5 million McMansiontown, complete with stuck up shiatwizards in Bentleys, to seeing lifted bro trucks and trailer parks (Wellington to Loxahatchee, for example.

FTGodWin: I for one am thrilled anytime I see that DC is incapable of furthering their destruction of society.

Agreed, I don't think anyone gets the blame, they should be getting the CREDIT for stopping the Government from farking us even more.

culculhen: Wait, you're telling me a close to evenly divided state has 2 democratically elected senators who represent each an opposed segment of that electorate don't agree on much? That they each vote with the party blocks that best represent the voters who voted them in office?

You really don't understand how this representative democracy works do ya?

Dude, don't you know what that blue-red state map is for.  If you are red, you are a teabagger.  If you are blue, you are a bleeding heart libby.

There is no discussion on this.

Yup... first guess was because of Ted Cruz, Rubio was second on the list. Then I saw the Florida tag and bumped him up.
