Torn blue jeans? Sunglasses? Yep, this is going to suck. Big time. May as well bring back Vanilla Ice for a cameo.

Bing image search, Charles Dutton, Yup, sure does.

Also, the top sleeve coming down from his waist looks like a malformed dong.

I am praying this is because it's Mikey and he's just trying to go live on the surface world like he occasionally tried to do.  If this is what all of them are wearing throughout the movie it will be more 90s than the 90s Turtles movies.

*headdesk*  Damn it hollywood this is why you need to stop remaking movies, because you always screw them up.

It just confirms that I will be skipping this one.

Goddamn turtles look like 8-year old kids in costumes!

The movie will probably be awful, but I'm still going to see it. Because I'm a TMNT fan. For better or worse, I have to see this.

crap, this movie's back on?  Last I heard they'd canceled it.  Like a year ago.

If you call yourself a true fan, you wait for VOD. Going to see it in theaters validates Michael Bay's career and will give him false confidence to sodomize other cherished childhood memory depositories like Powerpuff Girls and Swat Kats.

You know, I want to see a Dinosaucers live action movie badly enough that I'd be willing to let Michael Bay ruin it.

Teenage Alien Ninja Turtloids.

I'm not sure whether they are still teenagers or whether ninjitsu evolved in tandem on their home planet, so they may miss all four.

That's not even a costume- it's a shopped mock up of a costume and it's still horrible.

A real TMNT fan wouldn't see this movie.  They would find Eastman and Laird and kick them in the balls.

They embody the image that the movie projects for the characters. In this case, it's maori inspired tribal tattoos, sunglasses, and what looks like a bead necklace.

The turtles are, apparently, farking extras from Jersey Shore.

To hide his balls.

...Which Michael Bay may make a joke about at some point in the film.

Great, it looks like Shrek without his weird tube ears. And not even the cartoon Shrek, but the half-assed live Broadway version of Shrek.

Normally I'd think "Nah, this is a mistake, even Hollywood isn't dumb enough to f*ck up iconic character designs that have been pulling big bank on the toy shelves for longer than many of us have been alive," but then I remember what Bay did to the Transformers (let's eff them up so bad, when the toy companies make accurate movie versions, they'll have to be non-transformable action figures, screwing up the one and only element of the whole damn franchise that you'd think would be contractually untouchable). This looks like epic fail on the level of "Let's give Snake Eyes, the character who never speaks, big rubber lips on his mask. Because if there's one thing kids dig more than ninjas, it's the gimp from Pulp Fiction."

*Eyes collection of original TMNT comics....

These are going to increase in value right?  Along with my Puma Blues and Gobbledygook comics?

Should I cash out now or wait for the sequel frenzy before everyone finds out it sucks?

It'd be pretty fun if this movie turns out OK.

I was the biggest fan in the world of the original cartoon, then I hit puberty and simply stopped giving a shiat. Some stuff made for kids does have merit, but this was never one of them.

To be fair, TMNT in its original incarnation was definitely not aimed for kids.

This second one was actually pretty funny.  The turtles all get turned into household appliances in a time travel error gone wrong.  The cover is of a panel where Donatello is screaming back at Raph, "WELL YOU DON'T HAVE TO SCREAM!"  Another great panel is of Mike as a washing machine, only he doesn't know it yet, and says "Har haw haw! Where'd you guys get those crazy robot suits!"

img.fark.net
This the the 5th printing of the original comic.

img.fark.net
This artist does my favorite turtle rendition.  The poses are great.

img.fark.net
Battle with the Triceratons.  Eastman and Laird were set to release a new comic, called "Commandosaurs" but it never happened.  Think of Dino Riders but in this art style with blood and gore.  It would have been awesome.  If anyone knows anything about that project, chime in please!  They had "Melting Pot" which was some trans-dimensional time travel monster project that was pretty cool too.  Lots of gore.

img.fark.net
This guy was probably the best part of the original animated series.  They're not such a bad race of interdimensional aliens after all.

img.fark.net

This last cover is my favorite.  When I was 9 years old, I had a T-shirt with this on the front.  I'm 33 now.  It manages to portray our heroes as completely badass dudes capable of messing you up badly and that they'd have a pretty radical time doing it.  Yes, I was obsessed with the Turtles.  I was so let down by the 2nd movie I never bothered with the 3rd until much much later in life.  The live concerts are just so bad.  James Rolfe does a great review on the movies over at cinemassacre.com.  I think I saw a CGI movie on blueray not too long ago, and that was kinda cool I guess.  The only TMNT I know and love are the original comics up until the early 90's, the original cartoon, and the original movie.  The first movie did a great job of mixing the adult original comics with the cartoon.  If this new movie can do some more of that then it will be a hit.  But I do not have any hopes whatsoever of that happening.  What I really wish for is a TMNT fighting game with the shell/mechanics of the Samurai Shodown series.

LET'S GET SHELLED!!!

So you've never seen the new Nickelodeon show? It's quite good IMO. It's like a hodgepodge of all the past incarnations of the turtles. It hits all the relevant notes in kind of a 'best of' homage to the turtles throughout the years. The humor and characterization is good.  Like you I've been a fan since the original comics and this new show really captures the essence of the turtles nicely (my only complaint, no Bebop or Rocksteady). I suggest checking it out.

Is it on netflix/amazon prime or any of the free services? I am effing tired of playing "a bickey moss" (mickey mouse) for my son in the morning and tmnt would be a welcome change.

I "tsk tsk" in the general direction of fans of TMNT that haven't seen the new series.

It's sweet and about the only cartoon besides "Avatar" I would watch, kids or not.
