Glenn Beck is still upset that he found out the world does not revolve around him.

/We would have imprisoned Galileo if he raped and killed a young girl in 1990.

If only there was some place kids could learn about Creationism apart from trying to shoehorn it into science curriculum.

2014-01-23 04:18:51 PM
Again, Beck and his ilk need to be more specific.  They want CHRISTIAN creation stories to be taught along side science.  If schoolboards said OK to teaching the Islamic creation myth, I'm pretty sure Beck would be blubbering tears yet again.

It's Galileo, not Gallileo.

2014-01-23 04:21:13 PM
I'm not sure it would make much of a difference in the rural Oklahoma school I attended, it's not like very many of the kids were paying attention.

Just farking stop it already.

Dear Mr. Beck,

You do realize I went up against a Pope and the orthodoxy of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, right?
You do realize that I fought with my life and honor against the ignorance of established dogma, right?

You know, if I were alive today, I'd come over there and punch you right in the pants, for using me as a reason to keep people ignorant of scientific discovery, right?

You just watch yourself mate,

Considering the Islamic creation mythology is the same as the Hebrew and Christian mythologies...

But, that might be an effective tactic: "Glenn Beck wants force school districts to teach the Muslim creation story!!!"

Very True... I was angling more towards the injection of Islamic or (insert your favourite religion here) in to the curriculum that is not Christianity.

Dear Mr. Galilei,
you really should not have called the Pope a simpleton in your book. Insulting the Holy Father that way is the entire reason you were put on trial, and not because of your scientific beliefs. Heliocentrism vs Geocentrism was just an excuse to put you on trial, chastise you, ban your work Dialogue and commit you to house arrest.

You should in fact be thanking for the Holy Father for your arrest and confinement, because it allowed you to focus on what became your greatest work the book Two New Sciences.

Don't make us dig you up and excommunicate you.

The Holy Father.

While creationism isn't science, there is nothing that has "disproven" the concept of a creator. Sure, the Bible is a big storybook, but nothing has proven that god doesn't exist, and that he didn't create everything.

Sure, but the problem is that the folks who you're talking to are incapable of the reasoning required to understand that (or just don't care), and those who are capable already know it.

Yesterday's Alt was 'robots are strong', and he was derping in the story about Creationism in Texas charter schools. Apparently he was word for word quoting something of his Alt from the day before on another religion based thread.

Rather effective troll, he sucked a lot of people in before someone recognized him from the day before and called him out on it.
