Ahhh...a cleverly constructed trap by Harry Reid I suspect!

Considering they're the biggest sinners around, it seems rather appropriate.

And God smote them good for that one.

You Vegas Farkers ought to consider leaving town for this one.

The desert environment will lend some extra authenticity to the moment when they crown New Jersey Governor Baron Harkonnen as the nominee.

Are all the female prostitutes going to go home for the week to make room for the "preferred choice?"

It'd be ok if they just stayed there

If they think they are getting Nevada back anytime soon.... well, if they do that, they probably already had enough other states to win anyway.

Here is the GOP problem:
Double digits EV state won:  Dem - 14, GOP -7 (in 2008, was 16 to 5)..... the GOP can't sit on plucking all of the tiny states + Texas forever.

Now, from the other angle.... everything WIsconsin down is at least somewhat "close", that could with a little change in the direction of the political wind could go swing back into the GOP column.   On the GOP side, other than N.C. everything was pretty "safe".   I guess you can read that as the democrats basically "swept" the "Swing states" sans 1 (N.C.).... Indiana was an anomaly in 2008 IMO.

In the end, this is Vegas trying to get them there.... there are way too many folks in the GOP who would stop that before it happened.    I would presume though that LV would be trying to pull in the Democratic convention as well?

My predication.... a "Big 4" pro sports team needs to land in Vegas before one of the parties holds their convention there.

They're going to have to import a LOT of male "escorts" and "baggage handlers" from Los Angeles. It's good for the economy, I guess.

Mr. Coffee Nerves: Are all the female prostitutes going to go home for the week to make room for the "preferred choice?"

Really.

Somewhere in West Hollywood or Palm Springs there are a lot of guys packing up their convertibles with meth, viagra and condoms and heading to Vegas.

Not so much Palm Springs. I've been to Palm Springs pride, and it's like the AARP of pride weekends. It was really fun, but definitely more "ladies of a certain age" than West Hollywood.

I put my name forward to duel his surprisingly Sting-like nephew.

On the plus side, Duncan Idaho has nothing on me with a blade. On the downside, I'm fairly sure my crèche mother was not a witch.

They'll be sorely disappointed that what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.

One is a vast desert wasteland full of superficial old white people who are attempting to rig the system, and the other is a city you can gamble in.

The GOP must think "whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" is literally true.

Escorts primarily do outcall to hotel rooms that the guys are staying in there. No need for them to leave and unsurprisingly, Republicans make up the majority of escort clients.

You've heard that saying about people who complain the loudest about something? They are usually guilty of it!

Eh. It's not nearly as bad as the one yesterday about the police "shooing" unarmed black people.

Actually prostitution is legal everywhere in Nevada except for Las Vegas, so they'd have to travel a bit.

By there, I mean Las Vegas. Incall locations are more prevalent in other cities.

I can't see them venturing out to the brothels lest they be spotted, and those are all quite a long drive away from what I gather, but those big hotels are perfect for having someone come to your room on the sly.

Every gay prostitute in Vegas just maxed out a credit card on lube.

Makes more sense than holding it in Kansas City. Missouri is hardly a swing state anymore.

Reminds me of the old line about taking Baptists to fish. "Always take two of them, if you take one he will drink all your beer."

Are bigotry, hatred for the poor, and lying to your family about your not so secret homosexual longings considered family values now?

Well It's a city that celebrates rampant capitalism, gambling with money (no matter the source), and brothels.

If the candidate hadn't been "blah", Pennsylvania would have been a 10 point win for Obama.  For the Republicans to win the Presidency, they basically have to win every state from Wisconsin on down except for Pennsylvania.  So I do expect Nevada to be the Colorado of the next election.

This idea gives Libertarian GOPers a hard-on.
