Biodiesel isn't really environmentally friendly.  You're still burning hydrocarbons.

Yes it is.  It's not fossil hydrocarbon, the carbon comes from the atmosphere.

A guy that had a shirt on that said "Exxon" was seen driving away from the scene.

Yes, but it's expensive.

Isn't meth the desired byproduct of biodiesel processing?

Couldn't subby/modmin have given us an article about this with a picture of said environmentally friendly rubble. Damnit.

I'm more entertained by a link posted to an aggregator from a news organization in Chicago reporting via a news organization in New York about an accident in Mississippi.

It also helps that most of the factories are across the Pacific. Makes for all that clean air that anti-environmentalists crow about. Instead of falling out over the Eastern half of North America, most of it falls out over the relatively empty Western half of America. Serves them Red State farkers right.

What goes around the Earth, comes around the Earth, especially near the North Pole. The Canadian Arctic is getting much of the black carbon that China emits, which is why it is heating up and melting more than Greenland or Baffin Island. The black carbon of India falls out over Siberia and Russian ice floes.

Yep. Like the famous humourous singing duo, Bowser & Blue put it:

Keep them over there, Lord
Keep them over there
Famine and diseases
Keep them over there.

This is, as I have pointed out before, a parody of a World War One song in support of the troops with the lyrics "Help them over there, Lord". It may have inspired the "fight them over there so you don't have to fight them over here" meme among conservatives.

But modern day conservatives are a bit less pious, a bit more selfish, than they were in the early 1900s. Although they are still enraged by the Income Tax of 1913. As long as the externalities are going the right way, they don't care.

The plant uses poultry fat as feedstock

I'll bet that area smells like one giant KFC for a month.

It only takes two people to run a Biodiesel plant?

Yep, if you don't mind Beavis and Butthead blowing it up every so often.
