WTFDYW: DROxINxTHExWIND: Ker_Thwap: CMYK and PMS: People high on marijuana do not make bad decisions. They do not drive badly, They do not commit crimes.I leaned this all by reading Fark.

Every stoner I've chatted with on Fark has a non corporate, well paying, responsible job that is saving the planet, and is a well respected participant in the community as well.  This is the internet, so I totally believe them.

/The drunks at least admit how it's impacted their lives.

The drinks don't have a choice because the drinking effects everything and they can't be functional on alcohol. The "potheads" are at work right now (like me) snickering at the fact that there are still these ridiculous stereotypes floating around.

Wrong

On many levels.  The high-functioning stoner up above didn't even realize he wrote drinks instead of drunks.  "The drinks don't have a choice ...."   Although?  S/he is correct.  Drinks really don't have a choice as to whether or not they get drunk.

I know there are destination tours popping up.  That's not what I'm talking about.  I'm talking about people with layovers at the airport.  It's a hub for United and Southwest.  That's a lot of people with a couple hours to kill but not enough time to go all the way to Denver and back.

It was sort of sarcasm. Gay marriage and pro-life legislation already answered the question. Legalized marijuana has almighty dollars attached to it though.

That's because many of you don't appear to understand the difference between 'altered' and 'impaired.' You likely also have a rough time comprehending that different people react differently to things like marijuana or that different strains have been cultivated to provide different effects. (For example, there are many strains out there that try to minimize the lethargy that is common.)

The good news is that it's really easy to paint with broad strokes which probably provides some comfort to people that are frightened by things they don't understand very well.

I know dealing with nuances is difficult when you're high.  Not every person who drinks is a drunk, not everyone who smokes is a stoner.   Think about that for a moment before you respond.

I've drunk, I've smoked... likely before you were born.  I've been under the influence, I've seen friends and family under the influence.  I've had friends injured and dead due to various substance abuses.  Some people can handle it, some people it consumes.  Try not to presume what is and isn't a stereotype just because your situation is happy at the moment.

cgraves67: I doubt that many pot smokers are going to be looking for real estate to accommodate their private grow operations. There is so much land out there, State and National Parks, ranches, BLM land, etc, that is basically unattended. They can anonymously grow large amounts out in the wilderness and harvest it as needed without the capital investments that they probably don't have.

IIRC, just like with medical you're not allowed to grow outdoors as it can't be secured. That covers both the licensed wholesale growers and private individuals. The only exception is hemp, which you can't get high on anyways and is also licensed and regulated.

It's how the kids debate these days.  They can't form a coherent argument, so the first one to get confused by the concept of conflicting valid opinions based on different real world experiences, gets to call "troll" and win.  Sorry, you confused him, so you lose the argument and he wins a shiny plastic participant trophy that declares him the internet winner.

Legal pot might be having an effect on that reporter:

In the past, yield for Colorado residents has been around 50 percent, or, for every two students the school admits, one enrolls.
For out-of-state students, CU admits four or five students for every one that actually enrolls.

Along the lines of five students get an acceptance letter.  One enrolls at CU, 4 go to other schools?
