For farks sake, why do websites think autoplay is ok?

Yay! Let's have more of this Sherman crap.

He got hyped up, and made some stupid statements on camera. It doesn't not make him a 'thug' or a n*&&@^

It was a bit classless, but so are many pro athletes. Especially young ones, who just made the biggest play of their career.

But we all need SOMETHING to fill in these painful 2 weeks before the game.  I mean , weather is not a headline item.

Sherman did better in his press conference explaining the issues of what he did and the reactions to it than any "writer" who tried to do so did in the various articles written to defend him.

The man is legit smart.

I'm thinking that Fox will have one camera follow Sherman the entire Super Bowl game. Which will likely show he's either holding or committing pass interference on nearly every play.

The conspiracy theory is Seattle is that Sherman manufactured some outrage to keep reporters from sticking cameras and microphones in Marshawn Lynch's face every day for the next two weeks, and I'm starting to believe there's something to it because Sherman keeps upping the ante.

This.

At first, I thought the whole rant thing was retarded, but after reviewing the evidence, including his pretty eloquent piece in Sports Illustrated, the guy seems to have it together.

Was he taunting Crabtree? Maybe a little.... but it sounds like Crabtree deserved it. His rant, at first, seemed like the sort of thing said by an angry man who demanded "respect" as if it was a life or death issue, but in retrospect, Crabtree seems to have done some classless things in the past to piss Sherman off. If Sherman fed off of it to make a key play in the game, then good for him... and if his adrenaline and emotion made him spout off in an epic manner on TV (while not swearing, I might add), then so be it. Fox Sports wasn't complaining.

What's the real story line going into the game then?

Will Robert Turbin be able to gain 4 or more yards per carry while Lynch is Skittling up?

No need. I'm actually thinking it will be awkward for the broadcasters, as they keep showing holds that aren't getting called time after time. But it would be the same if they keyed on an O-lineman.

LOL,

he practiced yesterday.  I  hope this Sherm thing distracts the Broncos so they forget about Percy.  The guys played maybe 5 downs for us all year. And very down was exciting.

Seattle says yes.  For how long remains to be seen, but I'd love for him to get a punt return or a kickoff return.

But, I made the point yesterday: Denver has faced some really awful defenses, and haven't really been tested by a top defense.  The media is too busy anointing Peyton Manning to point out that he's made a career this year of shredding the Jags, the Raiders, the Chargers, the Pats, and so on.  All of the great defenses are in the NFC.  Does this mean that Seattle will win?  No.  But it is a valid storyline other than Sherman and other than the Peyton worship.

I see we've shifted from the defending the indefensible to the much easier, "he's not a n***er" strawman.

Amazing.

As everyone with half a brain already knew before this clip, the Sherman BS was entirely unprovoked and classless.

And lets keep calling him 'smart,' because he had a bunch of ad hominem against Skip Bayless, whom everyone hates because that's Bayless' character. What a farce. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise, given the crossover of football fans and fake wrestling fans.

The rest of the team is fine with it. Baldwin opened up and told Amani Toomer to shove it when he made his baseless claims about the team, and Baldwin specifically, being pissed at Sherman. A little research would tell you that there is nothing wrong at all with the chemistry in that locker room.

hence why i mentioned Jim McMahon

when the Bears went to Super Bowl XX, McMahon was the center of media attention - there was always some story coming out everyday about him

in the end the rest of the team appreciated it, because they could focus on prepping for the super bowl

Indefensible?
Did he threaten to kill anyone?
Did he use the words 'n*gger,' 'retard,' 'homo,' 'Redskin,' etc?
Was he utterly disrespected on national television in the moments prior to his rant?

Sounds smart to me.

His actions have no defense, hence, indefensible, by definition. There is literally no valid excuse other than he is a douchebag and an asshole, as history shows.

I get it, he plays for your sports team so you're going to suck him off no matter what. That doesn't change the fact that there remains no excuse for his behavior at the end, and after that game. Which, incidentally, is why the narrative is being shifted to racism.

The damage is done now though and there's no going back so you're just going to have to live with that as a fan.

I did explain how it's indefensible, there is no valid defense for his actions. Specifically, personally attacking another player after the game on live TV to tens of millions of people, unprovoked, then doubling down on it again in the subsequent interview. There is absolutely no place for that in professional sports, or any profession, anywhere.

When you grow up and get a job, you might realize this.

Seriously, say what you want about us Seahawks fans, but these last few days have been remarkable for bringing delusional Niner fans out of the woodwork. I don't use the era lightly - delusional in the sense that they are refusing reality and substituting their own.

And it doesn't mean criticizing for his classless actions makes you a racist. Unless you are a fan of Seattle then you're a racist for criticizing him because people on Twitter said mean things to him. Because, you know, Twitter is important.
