Evening all. Would MUFC want to get to a final against MCFC? People might be watching.

Wilfried Zaha is on the bench... of the reserves game.

BBC suggesting he's going on loan to Cardiff. At least he'll get some playing time.

Wrong change room. SON OF biatch!

Falcao's out with possible ligament damage. If it's a tear, Colombia can start thinking about Russia 2018.

If we have our patented Moyes Face of Despair again, many MUFC fans will want to have missed this match entirely.

Does the Least Cup have an away goals rule?

Princip's Sandwich: Does the Least Cup have an away goals rule?

Away goals only count after the end of extra time.  Therefore if the score stays the same after 120 minutes then United wins.  Basically Sunderland has to score in the next 60 minutes or so.

Odd setup for an away goals rule, but thanks for the info.

Also, Real might miracle their way to the title. Barcelona somehow managed to tie Levante, which still baffles me, then Atletico tied Sevilla, which is more reasonable. Just one point behind now.

Yes it is. Based on their pre-match comments earlier in the tournament, not even all the managers know the rule.

I think the idea is to reduce the supposed advantage for the team that plays the second leg at home, but I'm not entirely convinced. The one plus for the neutral, I suppose, is that at this point both teams are playing to score in normal time.

Mata having a medical tomorrow it seems. Reports of a 37 million pound transfer fee being agreed upon.

Moyes has been playing the long game all along. He has deliberately tanked the first half of the season to persuade Chelsea that Utd aren't a threat so that they will sell him Mata. Masterclass.

Now, will he ditch that plan now that he got Mata, or try to make United become a mid-table team for the future?

Play to your strengths, I always say. Moyes will shoot for positions five through eight: high enough to sustain optimism, not high enough to get into the Champions' League.

Rainbowland. And if you'll excuse me, I have to go and feed my unicorn.

So, judging from the Eurosport commentary, United's getting outplayed at Old Trafford by an inferior (on paper) team. Again. Are we sure Moyes knows he's not coaching Everton? Why else would he be as inconsistent as last year's Arsenal whenever he's playing at home.

It disturbs me how few shots on goal Utd get without RvP or Rooney. Hernandez has been invisible.

Time for that nifty away goals rule to come into effect. Late better than never, at least in United's point of view.

And if those two both come back, where do you put Mata? Every single comment I've read or heard on this Mata to Utd deal up to now is that he can't play out wide.

Januzaj should come off. He's been great, as usual, but he's looking tired.

How about Januzaj, Carrick/Fletcher, Mata, and Valencia across the middle, with RvP up top and Rooney just in behind him?

/I got nothin'

That just reminded me Fletcher is still with United. I keep forgetting he's there.

And Fellaini too, I now recall. Hard to see where he'd fit: if he wants to play more defensively, he's probably behind Carrick, Fletcher and maybe even Jones in the pecking order.

Speaking of United, rumors popped up today about Real being interested in Rooney. I'd actually want Rooney. Mainly because it means Benzema would be gone.

If Manchester United can't beat these relegation-candidate teams, they're not destined to be mid-table much longer.

He was so far from the match he landed in Wales. Impressive.
