hardinparamedic: Tatterdemalian: And of course, the first reaction from FARK isn't to wonder who actually did shoot the protesters with live ammo (the most likely culprit, opposition leaders playing the victim card, doesn't fit The Narrative), but to point out that non-live ammo can still be lethal.

/which is technically correct
//the best kind of correct

I'm pretty suspicious of the claim that this was a "false flag" just to incite the rioters. This was the same claim during the Green Revolution that people used to discount the anger over Neda.

When dealing with protests, propaganda is everywhere, on both sides.  You won't get clear, factual information until after the dust settles.  I've seen more than a few protest virals get proven wrong.

Daedalus27: Now looking at the government in power, they have been a bit hamfisted in the handling of things.  Is it really that big of a stretch that some of their forces could have fired live rounds (or less than lethal rounds in an improper manner)?

Yes, since a) the protesters were killed by live rounds, not less than lethal rounds "fired in an improper manner," and b) the government forces couldn't fire rounds they don't have.

/more likely they thought the fact that they survived less than lethal rounds from the scary government soldiers made them start thinking they were superheroes, and they tried to stop some crime in progress they ran across in he chaos
//only to discover the hard way that real bullets are a little more dangerous
///and the opposition jumped on their corpses as an opportunity to make false claims

And you believe the government spokesperson who says they didn't have live ammo?  Now who is being gullible.  If you believe that the riot police and irregulars they may be using don't have ready access to live ammo if needed, I have a bridge to sell you. It is crowd control 101 to be ready to escalate if violence erupts and you are forced to defend yourself.  It doesn't matter if it is the Ukrainian police forces or the LAPD/National Guard during the LA Riots. You use less than lethal to start but have access to live FMJ rounds if the situation warrants.  Now maybe the central government didn't authorize the use of live ammo (for PR purposes or plausible deniability), but things can and do happen during unrest and certainly the officers on the street or lower level commanders may have felt the need to escalate.

Actually one of pro-government MPs declared that snipers were sent by NATO
