(Mother Nature Network)   It's just not fair. Not only is Matthew McConaughey gifted with a charming personality, a dreamy chest, and beautiful teeth, but he can also lose weight just by eating pudding   (mnn.com) divider line 38

Little too emotional for me, but looks good

Probably still better than Christian Bale's weight loss diet of 2 apples a day, coupled with nothing but black coffee and cigarettes.

Or Christopher Walken living on a can of tuna and 2 or 3 bananas a day for 3 months.

You've got to be a special kind of person to put yourself through that.

Yeah. A method actor. DeNiro, Bale, McConaughey, Day-Lewis- these are the guys who mentally AND physically immerse themselves in roles. Not sure it bodes well for their futures, but hey- Oscar!

Where's the line between art and narcissism? Or does there even need to be one in Hollyweird?

I absolutely love this show. I could not even look away while it was on, which is weird because I usually don't really pay attention to what is on. The only other show that I really love is GoT but this has been better than that so far.

I wonder if McConaughey picked up on high school girls while preparing to play Wooderson in Dazed and Confused.

Has anyone ever won an Oscar and an Emmy in the same year, because he might actually have a really good shot.

Actually, yes.

Holly Hunter for Lead Actress in "The Piano" and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Special for the HBO Original movie "The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom".  (both in 1994 for works released in 1993).

Killer Joe is a great movie, and more people need to see it.  If McConaughey playing a total sadistic badass doesn't sway you... umm.... totally nude Juno Temple?

Totally nude Juno Temple.  You want that.

You should be off pudding. Because you're fat.

Killer Joe impressed the hell out of me. Looking forward to watching Mud soon.

the turn-around your man has done in the last two or so years is nothing short of amazing.

his reversal of his career in the run of movies (including True Detective) starting with Lincoln lawyer up through and including Wolf of Wall Street is almost unparalleled in hollywood history.

He's become a brilliant actor.

That being said, I don't think Matthew's "all that" in the looks department.

There I said it.

Matthew is cool and all, but it was Woody that got Alexandra Daddario's tits in his face.

The Lincoln Lawyer was criminally underrated...really enjoyed that movie.

both he and Tom Hanks are now diabetic because of the wild weight swings demanded for their roles.

His turn in Mud was absolutely astonishing. He'd done enough useless movies with Kate Hudson that I'd almost written him off, but whatever it was something lit a fire under that boy's ass.

And if you haven't seen it, 'Lone Star' from 1996.

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson being rousted by the police because they were naked and stoned and playing bongo drums too loud in the middle of the night swayed me, but you say that they act too? Nice.

To be fair, any of us would lose the same amount of weight, eating the same pudding... The commendable thing is actually doing it.

He was also good in "Bernie", even if it is (in my, and most critic's opinion) Jack Black's best movie.

I just quoted the same comment and was just about to say the same thing. That was an excellent and surprising film. I cannot recommend it enough.

Don't know when Woody became part of that story, but if I was built like MM
Then I'd be struttin it in the nyood everywhere I went.

If he was actually a method actor he would have caught AIDs for the part.
