More like a complex, over-written lead up to the author's fancy dinner party and his smart-pants guests...

I say this having grown up with parents who, while not scientists, still had some fairly hoity-toity events. Boring... but the food was good.

That article made me vomit on my snow shovel.

If that isn't a euphemism, it is now.

"Is it true that no two snowflakes are alike?" This question comes from the host's teenage daughter.

It is true.

Imagine, he says, the complexity of a snowflake (and enthusiasm italicizes his word "complexity").

I hope that stripped him of any credibility with his audience right there.

Okay, that made me chuckle.

There's a reason I have you highlighted (in cheerful red).

Decided to comment on what a crappy article that was, but I see you all took care of it.

Can we get some real science writers? Besides APOD and pharyngula and the other long term blogs, that is.

But February made me shiver
 With every paper I'd deliver
 Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step

FALSE:\

Snowflakes have an empirical formula.
Based upon the water molecule having a 120o angle.
Given that the amount of formed water molecules is infinite and that time is infinite, you may do the calculus on your own.
But, Two snowflakes can and will be alike, and it has happened more often than you can imagine.

Just because there are a shiat-ton of them at any given sample time, doesn't mean that "no two snowflakes are ever alike"

Dear article writer,

Either write crappy semi-porn romance novels or write news articles, don't try to do both.

Thank you.
