No, it's "sniveling bunny-hugging crybaby libtard who should go live in a cave and hunt and kill all his own food then." I used to sign my posts with that, but it looked stupid.

If the NSA is keeping their eyes on anti-frackers, there must be a reason. We should just give the government space and let them do what they need to do to defend our freedoms.

We get samples of fracking "water" in our labs all the time. Usually, about a quarter of the jar is filled with a foamy, oily substance and the milky watery part has TSS in the 50,000 ppm range, usually. That shiat is injected back into the water table. Do you know how long it takes to clean the water table? Effectively, you can't.

You really should keep reading. There's enough in there that it's not only our friends on the left should be concerned, any American ought to be concerned. And nothing particularly unbelievable either since it's basically a continuation of the shiat agencies have been pulling since J Edgar Hoover, just updated for today's era of way too much big business influence in government.

FTA:

"The criminalisation of peaceful activism under the rubric of 'anti-terrorism' is an escalating trend linked directly to corporate co-optation of the national security apparatus."

That is what will become the big story later on, when it's too late to do anything about it*.  Or maybe it won't be a big story.  We're steadily reclining into a "so long as it means I can have a bigger TV and get my cheeseburger faster I don't really give a hrmsphfdrzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz."

*Or maybe it already is.  They were pretty careful to write laws about fracking, before it got rolling, saying that you can't sue for liability, or find out what they're doing.  Now the NSA can secretly determine that you're a terrorist because you're trying to subvert secret laws.

I dont know where you are, but here our water table is generally between 75 and 500 feet. Most of the recent fracking activity takes place in the Mississippian formation between 4500-5000 feet. The injection formations are even deeper.

What these poor corporations need is more freedom from regulations...

Even though there's very little opportunities for fracking in my home state of MA, I'm happy we're on the verge of banning the practice for a 10 year period.

Sounds truthy enough, until you consider that governments are also willing to put notably violent and anarchistic groups such as those thugs in the Quaker church into terrorist watch programs for protesting.

Anyone who protests is a terrorist anymore for purposes of surveillance.

Can it be removed from the water?

Look, if we need to frack for our energy needs, then we need to ensure it doesn't endanger other things Human Beings need. Like food, water, shelter, etc. So I propose that IF fracking is causing our water to be polluted, THEN the companies doing the polluting should also invest in cleaning up the water for consumption by them, their attorneys, their legislators, and the CEO. Oh and the people, too.

If we need the product so badly, and we need the water it touches worse, then make them part of the solution- and not in an off handed way. This, to me, is why Government must be stronger than corporations and companies.

Injected into the water table?  I do not think you know what you are  thinking.  The frac injection takes place a few thousand feet below the water table and the waste water is contained on site in retention ponds until fracing is complete then this water is usually disposed of by either water processing plant or more likely injected into dead wells thousands of feet below the water table.  There is a chance of surface leaks of the rentention ponds but no injection into the water table.

I don't know why we are requiring the energy companies to post a bond (25 year, 50 year) that they can recover when no environmental damage has occurred.  I'm tired of taxpayers subsidizing private profits.

Anybody know if there's been corroboration of fracking-related tremors/quakes? I know there's a big problem recently up in Azle, but the energy companies own the politicians here in Texas so they'll drag their feet as long as possible. Hard to get credible information either way.

Does it sound like concern?  I always wondered what independent thinking sounds like to people indoctrinated in their collective think tanks.

We need a leader that say no more illegal wire-tapping of American citizens.  No more national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime.  No more tracking citizens who do nothing more than protest....fracking.  No more ignoring the law when it is inconvenient.  That is not who we are.  And it is not what is necessary to defeat the terrorists.
