Random Anonymous Blackmail: But it is ok to get shiatty drunk, eat corn beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's day and no one says a damn thing.Pretty farking hypocritical if you ask me.It is OK to make fun of the Irish, the Jews, cops, Lawyers, greasy WOP's and Asians but if you make fun of black people you are a racist.
That Guy Jeff: Young college douchbags throw questionable and offensive parties. News at 9, followed by a new study that answers the question "is water wet?"Not on college grounds, not a college event, not the college's problem. You don't like it... write a letter to the kids involved.
mbillips: What I can't figure out is why frats think they have to have stupid, frequently racist themes for their parties. You're at Arizona State, idiots. Put up fliers that say "Horny frat boys & free booze" and there will be a line of girls out the door.
GGracie: "I want to go home, eat some chocolate and watch my stories"
Publikwerks: Begoggle: Solid State Vittles: What I don't get, and I'm sure one of you sociology experts can help me, how is it that no one associated with this doesn't step in and say "guys, maybe this isn't such a great idea, especially with the cameras and Facebook and all."Douchebags tend to hang out with other douchebags.Non-douchebags tend to not hang out with douchebags.Pretty much this. Not to say all frats are full of d-bags. Mine had some, but we made sure to even it out with stand up guys, so it balanced out.
Mr.Poops: A friend of mine celebrates this day with a bucket of KFC, lots of bong hits and watches New Jack City... He's a good guy, racist, but a good guy... most of the time.
Solid State Vittles: Publikwerks: Begoggle: Solid State Vittles: What I don't get, and I'm sure one of you sociology experts can help me, how is it that no one associated with this doesn't step in and say "guys, maybe this isn't such a great idea, especially with the cameras and Facebook and all."Douchebags tend to hang out with other douchebags.Non-douchebags tend to not hang out with douchebags.Pretty much this. Not to say all frats are full of d-bags. Mine had some, but we made sure to even it out with stand up guys, so it balanced out.My point exactly. Wouldn't someone, anyone, just ONE person, in your fraternity stepped in and said, uh, let's not?
thisisyourbrainonFark: Freshman 15, apparently.
Random Anonymous Blackmail: It is OK to make fun of the Irish, the Jews, cops, Lawyers, greasy WOP's and Asians but if you make fun of black people you are a racist.
TheStag: Not necessarily defending these frat guys. Odds are, some are racist. But there's a difference between stereotyping and racism. Every group is stereotyped. Every group's stereotype is negative. And every group's stereotypes are laughed at. White (honkey, square), Christian (stupid about science, etc.) Muslim (hates women, hates freedom, loves bombs) Irish (drunk), English (squares, bad teeth, obsessed with queens)... Laughing at a stereotype is not racist. Heck, most cultural groups aren't even separated based on race. Frustrating to live in a country where laughing at differences is automatically condemned as racism based on someone's oversensitivity/desire to be offended.
I Like Shiny Things: This was obviously 'a' and not 'er'.
Beeblebrox: "If you can't go greek, go TKE. If you can't go TKE, go home." was what they used to say in the '80s at my school. Seems things haven't changed much.
BigNumber12: Random Anonymous Blackmail: It is OK to make fun of the Irish, the Jews, cops, Lawyers, greasy WOP's and Asians but if you make fun of black people you are a racist.I'm 1/16 Cop, and I'm sick and tired of people having a free pass to make fun of my heritage.
ManateeGag: Frat Boy act like assholes. Film at 11!
Billy Liar: Well, Arizona's still kind of new at acknowledging MLK Day. Or civil rights, for that matter.
Publikwerks: Gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female party guests - we did. But you can't hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole fraternity system? And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Fark - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!
SirEattonHogg: Reminds me of my old college days at the Beta house when we were all throwing awesome parties and getting top shelf pussy. Being in a frat fosters deep brotherhood ties and friends for life. It's really something you losers would know nothing about - especially getting top shelf pussy.
ManateeGag: OH, and they're farking TeKEs, big shock there!
berylman: I am convinced that love is the most durable power in the world. It is not an expression of impractical idealism, but of practical realism. Far from being the pious injunction of a Utopian dreamer, love is an absolute necessity for the survival of our civilization. To return hate for hate does nothing but intensify the existence of evil in the universe. Someone must have sense enough and religion enough to cut off the chain of hate and evil, and this can only be done through love.
StrandedInAZ: Stay classy, ASU./U of A grad
ScaryBottles: Man having worked at a pr0n shop the phrase "going greek" just doesn't really mean the same thing to me as it does to other people anymore.
JeffreyScott: First, why does it seem that 75% of the embarrassing actions by fraternities across this country are committed by a TKE, SAE, or PIKE chapter? (Racist parties, dead bodies, anal chugging!) You are an embarrassment to the entire greek community that has grown tired of attempting to point out that not every fraternity is as horrible as you. And, yes, all the other fraternities and sororities think you are horrible when you do these things!Second, if you lack the intellect to come up with a non-offensive theme party, let me give you some free advise. Call your next party a "beer party". Trust me, you cannot go wrong. It tells all perspective attendees that there is going to be beer there. Free beer guarantees that plenty of women will attend. Given you are college students you are expected to drink beer at a party, so chances of getting kicked off campus are reduced by almost 100%.Third, if you absolutely have to plan an offensive themed party, than please: (A) Promote it by word of mouth only. No email, no FaceBook page, no posters, or anything the can be used to destroy plausible denyability, AND (B) Confiscate all cameras and phone cameras upon entry. Finally, if you ignore all of the rest of my free advise, when you get caught doing something really horrible, (example: offensive parties, dead bodies, anal chugging - yeah, I am talking about you TKE, SAE, PIKE) please, WHAT EVER YOU DO, don't attempt to defending your actions by claiming that you preform a couple of hours of community service each year. Seriously, that is pretty lame.
Halstread: Question for Farkers, do Black fraternities have "cracka" parties? If so I would enjoy laughing at their stereotypes.
mbillips: Random Anonymous Blackmail: But it is ok to get shiatty drunk, eat corn beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's day and no one says a damn thing.Pretty farking hypocritical if you ask me.It is OK to make fun of the Irish, the Jews, cops, Lawyers, greasy WOP's and Asians but if you make fun of black people you are a racist.1/10. When non-Irish people start running around New York hitting people with shillelaghs and conducting mock lynchings of black people on St. Patrick's Day, then you're getting close to equivalence.
