I drunk what: .......

You're a funny guy, Benny. I'll kill you last. :)

Phinn: The only limitations that anyone is truly subject to are established by ethical principles.  The rest are just noise, and those who impose them deserve the resistance they get.

And my ethical principles are that discriminating against someone for something they can't choose to be or not to be - that harms no one - is entirely wrong and unjust in a civilized society, and that it is not a human right to marginalize and persecute these members of society.

To quote Oliver Holmes Jr., Your right to swing your arm ends where my nose begins, Phinn.

Phinn: Drug dealing prohibitions are wrong, too.  (Although your example involved some element of fraud that I'd be open to consider remedying.)

Then you're a hypocrite, considering that would be totally against the market philosophy of caveat emptor. The FDA Pure food and drug act is an abomination, and a violation of my human rights to sell you stuff.

Of course, if I was to say that in mixed company, I would be called a moron, Phinn. Which is exactly what people are calling you for making this argument.

Phinn: Your rules about interstate this and private club that are nonsense.  I don't especially care if the current ruling class agrees with you or not.  I know what the current legislation and prevailing legal opinion among government employees actually is.  Most of it is wrong, however.

I don't receive a paycheck from any Government entity. In fact, the only Government entity I do belong to is done for no pay or benefits, and everything I provide is done so out of pocket. But your personal attack on me is duely noted.

Your lack of care is the same that I share for your philosophy of "It's my fundamental human right to act like a bigoted ass because I don't like something! You're oppressing me!"

Phinn: No, I'm not trying to control your life. I'm trying to get you to stop controlling mine.  So, the opposite.

Well, if you don't like living in a society with rules and people questioning you for saying idiotic things, you should probably found your own country, With blackjack and hookers. Might I recommend Antarctica?

gerrymander: So, all a religious person needs to do is give up every other civil right to stay religious? Can you even smell what you're shoveling?

People have the right to religious freedom. Corporations do not. Sorry, no sell.

Phinn: Leishu: only an INCREDIBLE FARKING MORON would equate the actions of a business with the actions of the government.

What are you on about?  Businesses help people.  The act of commercial trade is peaceful cooperation, mutual respect for the other person and his rights, the increase of productivity, and the improvement of the quality of life of both parties.

Businesses are designed to help two very specific sets of people: 1. Their owners. 2. Their shareholders. They are designed to take whatever action is allowed within legal limits (our outside of them, when it is deemed they can get away with it and/or come out ahead) to do so. You're a complete blithering idiot if you believe otherwise.

I would never equate that with government, which is populated by assholes, parasites and control freaks.

I quote:  Why don't you get that nobody forced anybody to bake a cake?

Your argument is, ironically, exactly like the conservative argument against gay marriage -- that no one is telling gays they can't get married, or forcing them to marry a member of the opposite sex, just that they can't get married to the person of his or her choosing, if it's homosexual.  See?  No pressure. Just one little rule!

Who do you think  is telling "Gays" they can't marry, exactly?

Also: You still haven't actually addressed the content of a single one of my posts. It seems that your particular technique of trolling is to take a single part of a post out of context and completely ignore the rest.

I'm just exploring your technique so that next time you threadshiat so thoroughly, there's a good record to be had of exactly what you do, so by all means, continue.

gerrymander: give up every other civil right

As has been explained do you ad nauseum, there's no civil right to own and conduct a business as you see fit.

End of discussion. Accept it or stop posting. Actually, just do both.

Then I'll mark you down as being in favor of my Romance Racism legislation.  The penalties I have in mind for people who choose mates using race as a factor are a real biatch. You'll love it, control freak.

hardinparamedic: Then you're a hypocrite, considering that would be totally against the market philosophy of caveat emptor.

To consider fraud to be a wrong?  No.  Your a idiot.

hardinparamedic: I don't receive a paycheck from any Government entity. In fact, the only Government entity I do belong to is done for no pay or benefits, and everything I provide is done so out of pocket. But your personal attack on me is duely noted.

My reference to what "government employees" believe the law is was a reference to judges, not you.

hardinparamedic: if you don't like living in a society with rules

But I do.  One of those rules is: No one gets to tell people whom they can and can't (or must or musn't) do business with, or otherwise mutually interact with in any way.

The fact that you can't bring yourself to abide by this simple HANDS OFF rule is why you are a known control freak.

Apologies. Let's try this again. Who do you think is telling "Gays" they have to marry someone of the opposite sex, exactly?

Are you going to give a real answer or continue to obfuscate, or, for my records, is that precisely what you do when your intentional inattention to fact backs you into a corner?

Something tells me that "control freak" is Phinn's passive-aggressive way of insulting anyone who won't let him do whatever he wants without consequences.

It has a way of irritating Progs, since they claim to oppose control freaks in other areas of their lives, and so they dislike being reminded of their own hyper-controlling urges.

I wouldn't call it so much passive, but I otherwise concur. He's been using that epithet consistently throughout this thread. It seems that one has the best success with short sentences, small words, and calling him every time he tries to invent things to suit his worldview. It's a very  limited way of outing this particular troll, but otherwise he just goes on taking one sentence of each post and deciding that whatever surrounds it is something he's about to disprove with some completely unrelated screed.

Which is weird because I love control. There's just something about being on the ground, with a heel in your throat while a beautiful woman squeezes your junk so hard it turns blu-

Oh, that's not what we're talking about, is it?

Selling wedding cakes is not a civil right.  It is a licensed privilege of the state that can be revoked.

Quit making stuff up.

So, the power to license marriages = the unlimited power to dictate who can and can't marry.

no. Equal protection under the law must be preserved.

I fished for Phinn...
Phinn: The selection of particular criteria for this form of special protection is arbitrary and unprincipled.
Agree
Phinn: Forcing someone to bake a cake for you is wrong, regardless of whether it's done by the State or by a random guy standing there with a gun.
Agree
Phinn: One of those rules is: No one gets to tell people whom they can and can't (or must or musn't) do business with, or otherwise mutually interact with in any way.
 Agree

Phinn, try not to explain too much to the unweeting.
The gist and the gust of what you say i have fished out of the seething pot.

And with those morsels i agree, as will more and more of the general public; and last of all, our NEW representatives in government [cough]  .
 After that laws will change.
they'll do it everytime.

Then you're another supporter for my Romance Racism legislation -- no one gets to discriminate on the basis of race in the selection of whom to date, for boyfriend/girlfriend, hook-ups, flings or (especially) marriages.

The penalties for invidious racial discrimination are severe.  Equal protection must be preserved, and the State licenses marriages, after all.  If you get married by the State, you have to comply with the State's requirements.  This whole "intra-race" dating thing ends now.
