Do we need to go over the difference between poisonous and venomous ?

Australia is a shiathole filled with inbred criminals. The best thing that could happen to that place is nuclear holocaust.

If only there was another drug that could be legalized that was less damaging to your health and less prone to encourage violence.

Thousands of drunk people spilling out into the streets with limited ways to get home at 3 AM. Sounds like a great idea.

Also liquor stores closing at 10 PM? Yeah that's a bit early

In fairness, Australia isn't exactly short of poisonous plants and animals either.

are they also going to take gasolene away from the abbos?

2014-01-21 10:10:31 AM
And if you are an abbo, no gasolene after 8PM or on sunday mornings.

Australia smirks at such distinctions.

Is there a way to say "I would love to be the warden for the entire Australian Women's Olympic Field hockey team." that isn't reeeaaallly creepy? 'Cuz I'm coming up with nothin'.

FTA   The new measures include mandatory minimum eight-year jail sentences for those found guilty of fatal one-punch attacks.

Does that mean that you could get a reduced sentence for hiting someone twice?

"The new measures include mandatory minimum eight-year jail sentences for those found guilty of fatal one-punch attacks."

Fatal attacks?  If someone walks up to a stranger and kills him without provocation...  I would think that would be called murder or somesuch.  And warrant a bit more than eight years.

I thought they already had pretty strict drink driving laws in the land down under. Like 0.05%. Is it not enforced?

yet the last train from Kings Cross leaves at 1.44am and the next is not until 5.14am

I'm not sure they've thought their cunning plan all the way through.

This must be something to do with Australia's legal system's English origins. It's the exact same here in Ireland, if you puch some random Joe and kill them you'll more than likely be charged with manslaughter. The charge of murder is usually reserved for where prior intent can be proven.

It's horrible really, innocent people going about their business, being killed by idiots in random assaults and the perpetrators getting about 10 years (with 1/3 suspended for good behaviour.) There's a case currently in the courts here in Ireland, some thug started a fight with a young kid outside a chip shop after the pubs closed, the kid pleaded that he didn't want trouble and the thug basically punched/kiecked him to death, I can guarantee you he'll be out of jail in a decade or less. This sort of crime happens here in Ireland about five or six times a year.
