No.

At best, you look like a hipster. At best.

My buddy saw a guy on a unicycle pedaling up a hill, while eating a sub sandwich.  Now, I don't know if that's cool, but I'd high-five the guy.

In Austin they have a league of unicyclists that play football.  Teams worth of these guys.  I wonder if they have second stringers.

Unicycles are awesome...especially if they have two wheels...and a motor.

So, they guy writing the lead for the video isn't sure if he's cool?

My god, those Birkenstocks. Even that guy's dingleberries are probably straight granola.

There's a guy I see around my neighborhood every once in a while who rides an electric unicycle.  It's looks like a small wheel with footpegs -- no seat, no pedals, no handlebars.  I have no idea how it works, but it looks pretty cool.

I knew a guy (kid of my dad's friend) who attended a private school that had a club for that kind of craziness.  They mastered pogo stick jump roping and unicycle tennis.  I was skeptical until while visiting my dad's friend's house, the guy took off down the street on his unicycle.

I used to hang with a juggling club and bought a unicycle and tried to learn how to ride it.  And tried.  And tried.  and tried.  and tried.  I tried for about 4 months, every day, with people who knew what they were doing and trying to coach me and I still couldn't get it.

When I see ANYONE riding a unicycle I think it's very cool because I tried my best and couldn't do it.

There aren't many things where I've tried that hard and still failed.

Yep, subby, to anyone who recognizes talent, it is VERY much possible to look cool while riding a unicycle.

To smug farks with no talent, but plenty of room to laugh at people for being able to master talents that they never could, I guess it would be pretty hard.

So yeah, I've known a couple of people who could ride a unicycle, considering the level of talent involved, and the answers to my questions about how hard it is, someone on a unicycle gets a nod from me, especially the multitaskers, like the one upthread that was riding one uphill and eating a sub sandwich at the time.

I found out recently that my new brother-in-law owns and can ride one. That upped his value in my book. Plus his kids are nice and he's great to my sister.

I learned how to ride on a 5-1/2 foot unicycle. I bought it for cheap at a juggling festival because I just couldn't pass it up. I started by climbing a tree to get on, but after a bunch of practice, I got so that I could free climb it and ride off. I could never get the hang of rocking back and forth in one place, though. I always wanted to be able to do that.

While remembering who I bought the unicycle from back in 85 or 86 I figured I'd google my old friend's name.  Turns out that we both live fairly close together - in another state - after all these years.  Thanks, Fark.com, I'm set up to reconnect with a friend I haven't seen in almost 30 years.  Woot!

I'm an avid cyclist and generally considered to have above average technical skills.  I track stand at every red light.  I mountain bike the XX sections and do the technical features.  So as that bit of weak internet tough guy background out of the way:

I cannot for the life of me ride a unicycle.  It's not even close, like if I balanced for a bit and then just couldn't get it going.   There is no intermediate step between me trying to get on to the unicycle, and me falling off of the unicycle.  The failure is instant and consistent.

Can you play a musical instrument?

I remember thinking, how do people play without looking. Now I wonder how people play while looking.
