(Bleacher Report)   One Seahawks fan possibly could have thrown around ten pieces of popcorn down on Navarro Bowman as he was carted off the field. This naturally means all Seahawks fans are the worst people ever and that Peyton Manning will be on Mount Rushmore   (bleacherreport.com) divider line 358

As for Bowman, I wish you a speedy recovery. I felt horrible they kept showing the replay. I figured his family must be watching,

As much as I hate the 49ers you guys were 20 seconds from taking the game away from us.

I respect the 49ers a lot more today than I did yesterday. That was a great game.

As a Niners fan who is still crushed, I'm glad the game was worthy of the best division in football.

Next year, the Niners get the slightly easier schedule of being in 2nd (at least in theory), and maybe we can host the rematch.

I just heard it was an ACL tear on Bowman...I'm so happy it wasn't a career ending broken leg. He will be back

The real crime here is them showing the replay over and over again. The guy had a family watching.

Great game 49er fans. Kaepernick has some growing to do, but he is a terrific player that I fear as an adversary.

Kap has one real flaw.  He's not great at passes that require touch/arc/loft or whatever.  Such as fade routes.  Kinda like the passes the Niners have lost on the last two postseasons.

Well I guess that is what practice is for, I hope.

dunno, a lot of the arguments used against Kaep were also used against Young - doesn't read the field properly, habit of tucking and running if first read isn't open... i don't remember anything about touch with the ball with young, but that's not something you instantly improve overnight and as you said - is what practice is for

either way, the two INT's he had weren't because of accuracy, but more because of bad reads

whizbangthedirtfarmer: Mikey1969: Meh, getting "decked" by someone in street clothes while he's in pads and a helmet, cheap shot it may be, but I'm sure he'll survive. He;;, whoever clotheslined him is probably suffering more injuries than he did.

Yeah, you're right. Certainly, illegally trying to decapitate a player on the sideline during a play certainly doesn't deserve the classless tag.

A: "Decapitate"? Hyperbole much?
B: Maybe you missed the part where I called it a cheap shot. Yeah, I'm sure you did because the word "decapitate" gave you such a giant boner that it blocked out the screen.

Well, then, feel free to say that whoever the 49ers player was is classless as well.  And I would argue that Sherman ranting after a game didn't really carry the potential to hurt anyone, unlike an elbow to the face at full speed.

\lessee, you'll say HE HAD ON A FACEMASK!
\\and then I'll say: what happens to the body when your face hits a solid object at full speed?  You go down, hard.

I JUST FARKING SAID THAT.

When I said "cheap shot", did you think I was talking about the Seahawks player? All I said was that I wouldn't get all broken up about it, since whoever did it is probably currently more injured than the guy I full pads, a helmet and a facemask.

That still doesn't change the fact that it was a cheap shot, it just takes the "Oh! The humanity!" wailing out of the picture.

Wilson's (and the Seahawks Offence) biggest flaw I saw last night is that Wilson running the ball is never a designed play, but always plan B once the offensive line is breached (which happens all the farking time)

Yeah, If Wilson wasn't so fast the Niners defense would've sacked, hit, and hurried him a lot more than they already did.

Maybe the popcorn was thrown by a 49'ers fan. Perhaps because he was pissed at his team, perhaps because he wanted to make Seattle look bad.
Statistically it is unlikely just because the low number of 49'ers fans in attendance, but it is possible. Without more evidence you certainly have to consider that this might be the case.

Steal, your owners wanted to sell. The intention was to move the team to Seattle all along because you guys will not build an arena for them. Right, it's probably all a big conspiracy.  Some poor Seahawks fan had about a handful of his popcorn spilled in the exact direction and distance at the exact moment Bowman was carted by.  Then some "journalist" from NFL.com with access to more video angles and information than the rest of us get saw the popcorn spill but decided to selectively edit and post a video making this Seahawks fan look bad and write an accompanying article saying as much.

Seems risky, all it would take is a single fan with their own cell phone video of the popcorn just being spilled to ruin this "journalist's" career exposing him as a liar but then again, that's how deeply seeded the hatred of Seahakws runs, amirite?

What's funny is that, when he has time, Wilson zings it like a madman.  His pass to Baldwin and his pass to Kearse were things of beauty.  I also think he hit Tate with a freakin' laser for a short game, too.  But the 49ers are an awesome front seven, and I just don't think very many O lines can stack up against him.  Wilson saved his own bacon numerous times, and that's what makes him very, very good.  Rush him and he'll move around and make you pay if you don't get that first hit.  Let me stand in the pocket and he'll shred you.  Or, don't put anyone on him, and he goes down the field.  Although he "only" threw for 215 yards, he was hotter than I think I've seen him in the past few weeks in terms of accuracy.  If he keeps that up, he'll give the Broncos fits.

As far as Kaep, the Seahawks D seemed to challenge him to beat them.  They stacked up Gore, and they kind of lost control of the fundamentals, where he gashed them for the long runs.  Once they tightened him in, he could only get that one pass off to Boldin (which was a thing of beauty itself).  But, when he was playing from behind, one fumble and two INTs just don't cut it.  He's a completely different QB when he's playing from behind.  He gets worse instead of better.

Hell, I'd volunteer to help out but I was at the game so I didn't get to see any replays of anything. I hear Bowman should've gotten a turnover...of course, since the Seahawks wound up turning the ball over in better field position for the 49ers a couple of plays later, I doubt that had much of an effect on the game.

1) The dude threw popcorn at Bowman and it is despicable
2) Sherman acted a fool
3) Neither of those things means the Seahawks, or the fans, as a whole are terrible classless blah blah blah whatever

Stop trying to defend either. Both were bad. Sherman's was not really that bad, but it was bad. Rooting for a team does not mean I have to rationalize everything a player on that team does or says. What Richard Sherman said has no bearing on me personally. I don't need to sit here and defend him being a jackass in order to continue being a Seahawks fan. Gary Payton was a monsterous shiat-talker and Shawn Kemp was a serial-inseminator and all around idiot and I still loved the Sonics. Every team has players that fans won't/don't like...it's OK to acknowledge that they do/say stupid things. It's not a reflection on you.

I never said anything you said was untrue. But it also is not representative of every Seattle resident's thinking. Let's not pretend like Howard Schultz was totally clueless that the team was moving when he sold. Yes Bennett et al. lied to the city and the fans. That doesn't somehow make the Sacto deal "better" than the deal that stole our team.

The Maloofs never told Sacramento the team was for sale. They tried to sell it in secret, which Seattle was happy to help with. So yeah, f*ck Seattle.

Somehow a million or so people were invilved in the sale? Get a grip, man.

The important thing is we kept our team. It's too bad Seattle fans were too inept to keep theirs. Which leads to the point of this thread - Seattle fans suck.

Mikey1969: It's a cheap shot, but there's no way that person on the sidelines thought they were going to injure this guy

Ummm...I would think that by definition, a cheap shot would be an attempt to injure someone.  I can't think of many players who would say, hey, I'm gonna totally cheap shot that guy and watch him bounce right back up!  YES!

While, on the other hand, almost any time a player gets injured, it's a cheap shot.  See the helmet hit on Harvin against the Saints.

Contrabulous Flabtraption: Shame Us: Contrabulous Flabtraption: mentallo69: Contrabulous Flabtraption: Eh, F*ck Seattle. The city tried to steal Sacramento's basketball team. Buncha dickheads and douchebags the lot of `em. Hope the Seahawks get crushed in the Smoke a Bowl.

Steal, your owners wanted to sell. The intention was to move the team to Seattle all along because you guys will not build an arena for them. When the Sonics were sold we were told the intention was to stay in Seattle, while they were behind closed doors already trying to move the team. The fans got screwed here buddy. Shame Us: johnny queso: The_Sponge: I applied to Stanford but didn't get in, so I'm really getting a kick out of these responses.

Because you suck at covering the fade route.

Sherman was actually a WR at the time. And for 2 years after.

are you saying The_Sponge does NOT suck at covering the fade route??

Meanwhile, Pete Carroll has commented on it.  Interesting.  Wonder if there's going to be a team-based fine in Sherman's future.

Shame Us: js34603: On the bright side Sherman's antics and your equally classless fans have really shifted attention away from the referees giving you that game. So you have that going for you.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.*breath* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAOIHOWHO;QNWU;UHBFOUWGHOU

I mean, I wouldn't phrase it that way, but the officiating was pretty shiat.

The Bowman fumble thing (worked out for the Niners I guess), that end of 1st half personal foul, the running not roughing the punter call (if you hit a punter's plant leg as he lands on it, that's gotta be roughing), two or three generous spots on Lynch runs right around the 1st down line (giving the 1st is one thing, but not even calling for a measurement or giving harbaugh a chance to challenge is rough), etc.

I don't want to get into "the game would have ended differently if..." because who knows.

What's dumb about this? You failed to keep your team, we didn't. Your fans actively tried to undermine our efforts (see all of sonicsrising.com) and failed. Add to that this incident with Bowman and it's plain to see Seattle and its fans suck.

Mikey1969: lennavan: Mikey1969: Nothing else. If you got more vieo, good for you,

I don't.  The "journalist" who works for the NFL does.

Mikey1969: As for the "journalist's account", it doesn't prove anything. Just that one guy said something. People lie all of the time, even "journalists". You've shown me no earth shattering evidence that proves anything.

GO HAWKS WOO

You're reading WAY too much into all of this...

Says the guy who thinks this is all an easily explained conspiracy against Seahawks fans.

Shame Us: The stupid bullshiat about the team and fans being "dickheads and douchebags" as Contrabulous Flabtraption squawked is f*cking stupid as well.

/It's just a football game

I do see and agree with some of the points both you and CF have made, but for you to say "it's just a football game" is laughable.

A few months ago on your other Fark handle you were still whining about SB XL.   Now that the Seahawks got some incorrect calls in your favor, it's "just a football game."

Believe me, if Terry MacAuley makes an incorrect call in the SB in a couple of weeks, everyone knows that you and everyone else will be whining.
