(Bleacher Report)   One Seahawks fan possibly could have thrown around ten pieces of popcorn down on Navarro Bowman as he was carted off the field. This naturally means all Seahawks fans are the worst people ever and that Peyton Manning will be on Mount Rushmore   (bleacherreport.com) divider line 358

Throwing popcorn? that's a shootin!

This is why NFL players should be allowed to carry guns on or off the field.  Popcorn defense, baby, popcorn.  It wasn't just ten pieces either, subby, I counted the pixels and there must have been at least twelve pieces tossed at him.

/one replay of Bowman's ankle was sickening
//two replays was cruel and unusual punishment
///all Fox had to do was cut to Bowman laying on the ground with the ball in his hands to make the point that the refs blew the call.

I guarantee that a fan didn't throw any of the items from the "Beast Mode Burger" combo.....too damn expensive.

BTW, I'm sure it was actually thrown...but that amount could've fallen out because it was on the ground and the person moved their foot when they got back up after sitting for the injury timeout and it fell over.

well that and the fact that they are still defending Sherman's asshole antics, not to mention they were whining about their last Superbowl loss for over a decade leads me to Subby's conclusion about them, even if I don't agree about Manning.

That, and no one in Seattle cares about the Ref's in that Super Bowl anymore. It was almost 10 years ago. Who the hell cares, not one Seahawk fan I know.

Yes, what amuses me about the Sherman "controversy" is that all sorts of people are saying it was classless, etc., etc.  Well, what about Fox's endless replays of a really great player suffering a potentially career-altering injury?  What about forcing viewers to watch it over and over again, with some of those viewers quite possibly Bowman's friends and family?

THAT is classless, not a guy who gave a ten second statement at the end of a hotly contested game.

In a despicable act of sportsmanship, it appears Seattle Seahawks fans threw popcorn on San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman as he was carted off after a gruesome leg injury.

"Appears" being the operative word. Shiat gets spilled in the stands ALL THE TIME.

If that's the only video they have, they need to back the fark off. I think Seahawks fans seem overly sensitive, and I'll agree that this is completely out of proportion to reality...

Why can't it be both?

Mikey1969: "Appears" being the operative word. Shiat gets spilled in the stands ALL THE TIME.

So something got spilled over a railing exactly at the same time a 49er was being carted off the field?  Suggesting this was probably an accident is about as stupid as suggesting the actions of a single fan reflect on all Seahawks fans everywhere.

One thing I can't accept is what I read after the game about Seahawks fans throwing food at 49ers linebacker Navorro Bowman as he was being carted off the field with his knee injury. If it's true, it's beyond terrible. That's as low as it gets. I'm sure whoever did this is in a small minority of fans, because I don't think that kind of action is an accurate representation of the character of the 12th man. Navorro Bowman is a great player who plays the game the right way. When he went down, I dropped to a knee and prayed for him. He deserves better than having food thrown at him as he's carted off a field. All players deserve better than that.

-Richard Sherman

That's class.

2014-01-20 01:55:51 PM
Yeah, and if that was Percy Harvin walking out and a SF fan throwing something, Seahawk fans would be completely mute about it.

2014-01-20 01:58:37 PM
Sherman was taught sideline speech at illustrious Stanford University, by Jim Harbaugh. So itgnore your eyes and ears for a moment and let your brain decide if Stanford would graduate a loud mouthed prick.

Now you're asking people to prove a negative. Everything anyone has ever seen from Sherman says that he's not going to let his opinion be filtered through a PR machine. He doesn't care if you don't like him or what he has to say.

Christ, if Sherman really pisses you off, you need to get over yourself. As a Pats fan, I was angry at Sherman for .002 seconds for confronting Brady after the game last season until I realized "you know what? I know Brady will talk smack too, and Sherm backed his up. Who cares". In fact, by Monday I was laughing about it.

Seriously, turn off the TV and just watch Disney movies for awhile.

You really are as stupid as I thought. Jackhole Jones sets his popcorn down, 20 minutes later, this dude gets wheeled by, Jackhole Jones stands up to see(Or someone totally unrelated to the Jackhole family), and they kick the popcorn while leaning over the railing to ogle the injured player.

OH MY STARS AND GARTERS!!! ACCIDENTS REALLY DO HAPPEN!!

As a Niners fan who is still crushed, I'm glad the game was worthy of the best division in football.

Next year, the Niners get the slightly easier schedule of being in 2nd (at least in theory), and maybe we can host the rematch.

Oh, but Brady just said (on PFT) that the Pats "win with class."  Bullshiat.  Bullshiat.  Bullshiat.  There's just not enough times I can type that.  I don't think I've seen Brady win (or lose) with class for a few years now.  He was an absolute cock in the undefeated season, but he got a free pass.
