Ari Gold was the only character in that show worth watching.

So it is going to be 90 minutes of Vince walking around having pussy fall into his lap, 90 minutes of E mopping around depressed because of his woman troubles, and 90 minutes of a Turtle and Drama adventure. I wouldn't mind seeing the Turtle and Drama adventure.

That's a 4.5 hour film! Might as well see Nicholas Nickleby instead.

Another show that was fairly amusing for about 3 seasons, then went on too long.

I wouldn't mind seeing what Turtle and Drama get into. Hopefully it won't involve crossing swords again.

Why he isn't getting the "Better Call Saul"  treatment is beyond me.

Don't forget the '90 minutes of Ari have an aneurysm' option. That could be fun.

Yea, I was thinking Deadwood should have been made into a movie. Should have never been replaced with Bob from Cincinnati.

sorry, I just don't jive with the fake Hollywood narcissistic parade that is Entourage

I'm convinced the only people that tuned in to that show were the people still watching mtv/vh1

/Yet, I would happily watch a feature-length Viking Quest, as long as they played it absolutely straight.

In that case, maybe I'll make the SO watch it as payback for watching every damn episode of S&TC.

/some of which wasn't all that bad

Entourage wasn't a  great show, but it was a  fun show.  Ari and Drama were pretty solidly entertaining characters, and every episode usually had one or two celebrity cameos.  I've let one of my buddies borrow my DVDs of the show and he's been enjoying it.

The main appeal of Entourage is that it's a male wish-fulfillment show.  It's a show about living in a big mansion with your best buddies in the world, rubbing elbows with celebs, smoking weed, drinking top-shelf alcohol, and hooking up with gorgeous women.

That said, I agree with the above poster who said that the show went on for a couple of seasons too long.  The whole storyline where Vince starts dating the porn star was just awful.

/not every TV show can be Breaking Bad.

How many TV series have been turned into successful movies, using that same cast? Star Trek is always 50/50, Serenity was good but the series was canceled. Misson Impossible had a new cast. A-team had a new cast and is not considered successful.

And even he became tiresome the last couple of years - especially leading up to his wife leaving him.

How can they not get the guys from Entourage back from the video store.  They're making tops 8$ an hour.

I liked the first X Files movie. I think it was a modest success at the box office as well. Never did see the second one though.

The Simpsons movie was pretty successful.  So was Beavis & Butt-Head Do America.

I would say it went from being lightweight satire of Hollywood to drinking its own Kool-Aid.

Like in the first two seasons the joke was that Vince surrounds himself by his childhood douchebag friends, makes Eric, the former pizza store manager his business manager, there's his brother who represents the chorus line of character actors who despite being recognizable, live pay check to pay check, etc.

And then by the later season, somehow everyone becomes a big Hollywood player with obscene amounts of money.

It also suffered from its main protagonist being the least interesting character on the show because he has zero struggles in life -- the guy lives the most gilded life imaginable.

I like the guy who plays Matt Dillon.

Seriously.  Have they been working since the show went south?

thornhill: And then by the later season, somehow everyone becomes a big Hollywood player with obscene amounts of money.

Vince starred in a Martin Scorsese movie that resurrected his career, Turtle invested in a tequila company that later struck it big, Eric became a talent manager for more clients besides just Vince, and Drama became a voice actor in an animated TV show.

It also suffered from its main protagonist being the least interesting character on the show

This is what's called "Designated Protagonist Syndrome", where the main character is less interesting than everybody around them.  It also applies to the show How I Met Your Mother, where Ted is less interesting than his friends Barney, Marshall, Lily, and Robin.
