Local media in Illinois reported he was initially pulled over on Jan. 10 for talking on his cellphone while driving.

Now, every time I read about one of these stops, I wonder if it was DEA S.O.D related.

What felonies do Classes F-W cover, then?

That is nothing compared to what pro wrestlers did in the 80s. Hell, that would cover about an hour's worth of a WWF house show.

Wait a minute.  900 grams equals a million bux?  Prices have risen drastically since my 70s days in Tucson.

Wonder if he's safer inside jail or outside. Don't really think a million dollars in cocaine will be forgotten about so easily.

And I guess it is that tough to find reliable drug couriers. Guy should really have been more inconspicuous.

One of his co-workers stated, "I would ask him about the white stuff around his nose and he would say that he had just eaten a powder sugar donut.  It seemed that he was always eating powder sugar donuts."

Noticeably F.A.T.: When you're breaking the law, always follow all the rules.

Especially the bullshiat ones designed around pulling people over for no good reason.

Hopefully this guy will walk.

The cops remind you that it was "Using a cell phone while driving" that got him popped.

It was most certainly not:

"The bug we didn't place"
"The snitch we don't have"
"The phone tap we know nothing about"

This. Nobody gets pulled over for a cell phone violation and "Oh gee is that a million dollars worth of cocaine in your trunk?". The cops knew exactly what they were after.

I'm cool with the cellphone ban.  Get the fark off the phone and pay attention to the road, moran.  Nothing you have to say is that important.

Also a great excuse for ticketing someone for DWB as my foreign looking coworker with out of state plates found out last week.

/his phone was zipped up in his bag in the back seat, got a ticket anyway because he "looked like he was texting or messing with the gps"

It happens.  I have a relative who was a cop. She pulled over a man for speeding, 80 in a 55 zone.  He was obviously freaking out while they were talking.  She was suspicious and asked if she could search the car, he said sure.  She had him pop the trunk and found 20 kilos of coke, not even hidden, just sitting in the trunk.  She said if he had said no she would have let him drive away.  She didn't have enough for a warrant and there were no drug dogs working that night.

Sometimes stupidity is a crime.

$1,300,000 / 900 = $1,444.44 a gram.  Not sure what these reporters were snorting but that's way too high.

I think this is more along the lines of what happened. Guy gets pulled over for a cell phone/traffic violation, cop asks to search the car, dumbass says okay. I ride clean and I still say no when asked. GFY.

He said Bergeron was allegedly caught with at least 900 grams of cocaine but he could not specify the exact amount.

i.e. x > 900

They said at least 900 grams and couldn't confirm the exact weight, so it was more than likely more than 900 grams. My guess is that they said at least 900 grams because in Illinois 900 grams is a threshold when it comes to sentencing.

He's the  night watchman at a private school located 800 METRES FROM THE US BORDER!!!!.  Lots of ravines in the area, including one right behind Canadian Customs.

While many(perhaps most) are set ups with that bug they dont have or that snitch they dont have if you are like speeding with a tail light out while driving with your Tony Montana sized pile of blow you might get caught with it when you get pulled over for speeding with a tail light out.

How do we get from talking on the phone to searching a car? I find it hard to believe that a simple cell phone violation is just cause.

$5,055 an 8 ball, no one would do coke if it really was that expensive. I knew cop math was bad but this is the worst example ever.

He was also given a citation for improper lane usage.

Um, yea, pretty sure he's gonna lose sleep over that.
