So Google Maps has proof of alien life on the moon?   I find it hard to believe they'd ever play a joke.

Also, didn't the USSR crash like a dozen probes into the moon in the 60s?

Sure, but this is apparently a much larger object than those, at least according to the article.

Do we know what the pixel resolution is?  Same as Google Earth?  .5m/px?  then it's about 12 to 16 ft across.  (about the same as a car is long)
Based on the wiki list of man made stuff on the moon, there are 15 or so things that on the surface that we do not know where they (crash) landed, many of those would be about that size.
How about we rule those out first.

Looks like a crater impact into the side of another crater and back filled with a mini avalanche, along with some bad image artifacts along an edge of high contrast.

\Believes there is life out there somewhere.  Universe is too damn big for there NOT to be.  BUT: This image is no better than a fuzzy image of bigsquatch, or crop circles, or 'ghosts', etc.  Also, the only interesting thing on earth is us.  All the elements are abundantly available from comets and asteroids and other low gravity bodies.  No one is coming here to harvest our preciouses and kill us all.

I'm pretty sure those seven dots are called "pixels".

2014-01-18 03:31:14 PM
Whether you believe it to be an alien craft or not, you must admit the geometric accuracy of the "lit dots" is rather peculiar.

I know I'll be ridiculed for this, but I've witnessed a triangular craft such as the one described back in 2006. I wasn't the only witness when it happened. We looked up and there it was hovering, silently right above us. Just as we had a moment to notice it, the craft (with very little effort) zipped off and out into the stars within a fraction of a second. The night was clear and there was no cloud cover to have obscured its motion or movement.

We still can't imagine to understand what it was. Whether it was extraterrestrial in origin or not, it was real, and I find it incredible to imagine that such technology exists, on this planet or elsewhere.

For anyone interested, a similar craft was viewed by many witnesses in the "Phoenix Lights" incident:

What's peculiar about an image anomaly being aligned with a grid, considering that the image is a grid of pixels? It's like saying that the geometric accuracy of this is "rather peculiar":

So, given that acceleration and immediate speed, there must have been an earth-shattering sonic kaboom, no?

There was no audible sound, the lights on the craft did not alter in appearance, there was no visible propulsion system or trail left behind, it merely reoriented itself and then was gone.

From the ground (and trust me, this is going to sound stupid) it looked like the craft was "sucked" in the direction of the night sky it had reoriented itself to. That's how fast I'd describe it, as if there was little to no actual movement of the craft itself.

You have all the reasons in the world to be skeptical of my account and I welcome it. I'm glad I wasn't the only individual there that night who witnessed the craft, or I would have doubted my own sanity.

There are some extraordinary things out there for us to discover. Whether a couple of visible dots on a Google map mean anything is irrelevant. We shouldn't discount the possibility for something to be real. We have an obligation as rational individuals to allow for the possibility to be more to reality then what immediately meets the eye to allow for our own self discovery. That's the words of advice I can share with you given my own peculiar experience.

Well there certainly isn't any originality...

Seriously people, can we go one "alien life" thread without this lame joke? Whoever says "it's not a joke, there's no intelligent life down here" will wake up with gangrenous testicles.

/there's no extra-terrestrial intelligence on Earth, that's for sure. Unless panspermia is right.

This is in response to  blacksharpiemarker :

Many years ago, I was jogging at night on the track at Byrd Stadium at the University of Maryland at College Park.  From the track level, the view to the sides was blocked by the empty stadium seating, so I was shielded from ground-level lights.  I saw one of those classic V-Shaped OFO thingies and stared at it slack-jawed for several seconds.  Same deal:  Two rows of lights, meeting at an angle, moving slowly and silently.

Then the whole thing shifted and I realized what I was looking at.  About 1/4 or 1/2 mile in the same direction, on  the ground, was a large parking lot illuminated by sodium vapor lights.  The V-Shaped lights I was staring at were that same characteristic copper-color.  It was a flock of birds flying in V formation, with the light reflected from their undersides.

If you see on of these V-UFOs, check what's on the ground. I expect you'll find a strong light source such as a shopping mall.

Thanks for the input CLG, in our particular circumstance what we witnessed was on a neighborhood sidewalk approaching a forested river area. The edges of the craft were visible against the contrast of the night sky, and unlike a flock of birds it hovered in place, orbs lit in a V formation, approximately 10 stories above us.

I'd be happy to dismiss the incident if we believed it was anything as obvious as a flock of birds, yet its movement, shape, large size, and sudden disappearance made it very distinct in nature.

CSB:

In the mid 90's I saw a huge, nearly silent, glowing light in the sky. Stared for a few minutes as it slowly got bigger. It was moving erratically, could not for the life of me figure out what it was. Finally it was getting close enough to hear a low hum from it. I run in the house to grab anyone who could come verify my sanity.

and then it got close enough to ID....
