Hey, if Dave Grohl says it's f*cking on, then it's just f*cking on. We don't question it.

I suppose that's better than an album that's just f*ucking off.  Or f*cking around.

You should watch the documentary they made for the recording of "Wasting Light" - it's called "Back And Forth."  Dave bought the old Neve recording console from Sound City Studios ("Sound City - Reel To Real" is also a great documentary), had it delivered to his home, and set up a home studio.  Yes, analog recording.

My favorite part of that documentary is when he is laying down a guitar track with his daughter tugging on his arm.  "Daddy, lets go swimming...Daddy, lets go swimming, Daddy..."

Finishes the track, puts the guitar down, heads to the pool.

I think it's more like, "Is someone getting THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST of news".

Happy to hear this since I've been following their career since the beginning and seen 'em live twice (my dad tells me he caught me crowd surfing on the 6:00 news when they performed in Edgefest back in 1998).

paulleah: Seriously?  The Foos record to tape?

Yup. And initial pressings of  Wasting Light came with a strip of the original master tapes. It's not numbered or anything, so it'd be a massive pain in the ass to try to collect every single one and splice all that tape back together again.

Interviewer:"What keeps you so grounded?"
Dave Grohl: "Having kids that don't f*cking care that you're a rockstar. My kids don't give a sh*t if I'm in the Foo Fighters. They're like 'Daddy, I need a smoothie. Now.' I'm like 'okaaaaay.'"
