If only there were a formerly proud tradition of, no names mentioned, NETWEAVR (SFO), myself (ARI), and [redacted to avoid the scourge of the 'no callouts' rule, SEA] three Farkers that had an NFC West wager, where the winner, as determined by NFC West finish (including any applicable NFL tiebreaker rules) won a donation to their charity of choice....

Fife was basically the home stretch for me in the morning when I was commuting from Kirkland to Ft Lewis. If I hit Fife with low traffic I was going to be on time. Of course I had to leave at 4am

We went to Bellingham this summer for my cousin's wedding. Before heading up there, we spent a night in Tacoma. The traffic from Olympia to Tacoma was LA kind of awful.

//still a beautiful state. Apparently we were there during a good time (mid July). I swear, on a sunny summer day, Seattle is one of the prettiest cities I have ever seen. I also realize that those days are few and far between.

Ha!!!!!

that is the exact thing I thought.

granted we'll have to wait until August, but, whomever wins the NFC Championship, there's no particular reason to not have a 4-person buy-in for the NFC West '14.  Rams had an odd habit of losing to shiatty teams but beating / going toe to toe with good teams.  RAMS FAN, REACTION!

I've lived here for awhile now and I still forget how "nice" it is, because you basically live in a black and white movie for most of an 8-9 month period and then come mid/late June it's like "whoa..."

I went to Vancouver BC when I was 20 during one summer and fell in love with it, and actually only ended up in Seattle because a job opportunity up in Van I thought I had fell through at the last second and was like "well, this Seattle place is less than 3 hours south of it and at least I won't have to fark with getting a work visa, so, screw it, here I come."

Too bad the Seahawks aren't playing the Giants. The governor of Washington could bet the governor of New Jersey over who could cause the biggest traffic jam.

On that I-5 stretch you're talking about, a car on the shoulder with a flat tire can back it up for miles. Who needs phony traffic studies?

It's kind of lame really.  It's on that ugly electronic billboard that blinds drivers when it's dark outside.  The pictures they use are low res and it says something stupid like "We are Coming...Be afraid".

It looks like a really bad PowerPoint presentation.  Adding to the lameness is that billboards habit of displaying randomo errors all over the screen.

Unfortunately all of Seattle's donations will turn out to be artificially inflated, but they'll blame it on the non-profit's accountant forgetting to take his Adderall.

My barista told me she was going to charge me $49.00 for my coffee this morning.  It's a good thing she's cute because I almost refused to pay it.

Everyone else has been fairly good natured about me being a 9er fan on their home turf.  I just don't tell them I grew up in Steeler country.

This is pretty cool, but is this the thread where 49ers fans remind us of all of the Super Bowls they've won before many of them were born, and which no member of the team or organization have no relationship?

I think that works a bit better. I mean, SF fans are stuck in hero worship of a visionary who has departed this world and a short guy who left the family in disgrace but is still considered an icon of better days, right?

My barista was in a 49er cap and jersey while the rest of the staff was decked out in Seahawks gear. I asked one of them how they could be letting him get away with it. He just said of the guy in 49er gear "he's the boss". Lol.

I good-naturedly called him Mr. Popularity and as I out the tip in the tip jar said "Hope your team loses this weekend".

All in good fun. One of us will be ribbing the other on Tuesday - I hope I am the ribber and not the ribbee.  :)

Okay, valid question time... The Seahawks' page says it's at (currently) $44,757/$100,000 or just a bit shy of halfway. The 9ers page is also roughly halfway, but only because they're attempting to raise a goal of $50,000.

Whyfor the differences in goal amounts? I'm not trying to rip on either team, just actually curious.

I'm a rabid Seahawks fan.  I found that video quite amusing.

Except for the whole "Adderall" thing.  The CBA states the players can say it was anything.  If it was HGH, it doesn't matter...they can say it was a "harmless" amphetamine.

But otherwise, yeah...pretty funny.
