And just for humor...

One day years ago I was visiting my mom. She used like taking me for long meandering drives through the country when I'd visit for some odd reason. So we were passing through one of the towns and I saw a store called RJ's Water Sports or some such and began to laugh. Dear ole ma asked me what was so funny. I tried to sluff it off and say it was nothing but she wouldn't let it drop.

So that fine day out on a quiet country road I had to explain the term "water sports" to my elderly mother.

Historically speaking, the richest and most greedy farks around turned into philanthropists at the end of their lives not out of good will towards man, but because they "won" at capitalism and needed to turn to other challenges to fulfill their competitive desires and improve their legacy.  See:  John D Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, etc.

Well all we need is one really good, scalable, SUSTAINABLE idea that can match or exceed the profit potential of oil and deliver the same power. It'll come so any research is better than none.

From what I hear the algae produced biofuel is looking like a good candidate but I've only perused the subject in passing.

Creating power from waste is kind-of a big deal. I've been saying for over a decade now that we need to try to find ways to harness the wasted heat our machines and electronics give off to help mitigate power demands.

Within the next 200 years we're going to hit a point at which it becomes obvious: We need to redesign and re-tool our economy and infrastructure to more closely resemble an ecosystem. Scavengers consuming waste products then themselves being harvested for usable resources to supplement or replenish the producers. The 'energy Economy' needs to become an 'Energy Ecology'.
