That was the first question that came to mind after reading this article.

I've checked with the ruling committee, and I'm afraid we have some bad news. This does not complete the trifecta. I repeat, this does not complete the trifecta. Set count back to 2 and await further news.

Apparently, she wasn't liked within the Munchkin community...
I just read the coroner's report.

As coroner I must report,
I thoroughly examined her.
And she's not only merely dead,
she's really most sincerely dead.

NO! We did it with the Oompa loompas! We can do it with the Munchkins!

/tag em, release em into the wild with some bourbon and porn and pretty soon you'll have an infestation.

I thought dwarfs had short lifespans, but this interview with her from last year Link
explains that she was a midget, not a dwarf, as were most of the other munchkins. Also the thing that she was proudest of wasn't that she appeared in this film, it was that she was an actual 'rosie the riveter' working building airplanes during WWII.
One can easily see how valuable somebody who could fit into cramped places would have been to the war effort.

Can we agree that someone dying beyond a certain age is no longer sad?  At 95, they were able to live their life.  Any time someone gets beyond a certain point is all bonus, and it shouldn't be considered sad that they've moved on to the next stage.

By the time you reach 95 the odds of you being sane and pain free are very slim. Death can be a blessing to some.

my great grandfather had his mind till his last days. But his feet and legs were in such rough shape he could barely make it to and from the bathroom. He was half blind and deaf.

he wanted out and was atleast a little bit happy to finally go.

It seems like a lot of old celebrities are dying lately, but that could be just a subjective impression.

However, if you think about it, the number of actors must have increased rapidly during the hey-day of radio, the movies and then television, so there must be more actors alive now than in 1937, say.

Perhaps we are facing a Hubbert's peak of actors.

Factors that might affect this is the number of actors employed, the percentage of them who became reasonably famous thanks to TV, VHS, DVD, etc., and life expectancies. I would think that well-known actors are quite long-lived apart from the problems with booze, drugs, etc.

Actors who were 30 in 1950 would be 93-94 now.
Actors who were 30 in 1960 would be 83-84 now.
Actors who were 30 in 1970 would be 73-74 now.
Actors who were 30 in 1980 would be 63-64 now.

Since the amount of air time and screen time that needs to be filled has been growing rapidly, we don't have to worry about peak actor for a long time to come, but perhaps the number of obituaries each year has taken a slight bump up this year. We are starting to get into the shows that amused Baby Boomers and Gen Xers in their youth or childhood, so there are a lot of famous TV actors heading towards Forest Lawn or wherever the famous dead congregate nowadays.

Mike Nelson destroyed entire planets and broke the Hubble. Offing a Munchkin is definitely within the realm of possibilities.
