Not really "reading" so much as searching for keywords and flagging suspicious messages for followup investigation.

So it's all cool.

Hey now. You know Obama only thinks this is an effective program that keeps America safe and that it shouldn't be shut down, but he's tasked Congress with figuring out whether it ought to be shut down or not.

So it's almost like he's against the program except not.

I bet they'll never crack the code that my friends and I use by sometimes substituting "stuff" or "shiat" when talking about picking up some weed.

I totally understand.  When I Google "Leaking Teenage Girls" I get about 200 million hits as well.

LOL. No, they don't "search for keywords". It's not 1986 anymore, and the NSA is not hiring junior college interns to write their filtering programs in BASIC.

While the documents, complete with smiley face Venn diagrams and gemstone metaphors, stated that US phone numbers were either removed or minimized. The same cannot be said for numbers from the UK and elsewhere.

But don't worry, this document was leaked so US citizens could know what the NSA was doing to our rights!

Time for a little civil disobedience, me thinks. What would happen if a sizable percentage of the American population started texting about making bombs and blowing shiat up?And by that, I mean blowing cow pies up? Non-stop, tens of millions of texts per day. The cow pie terrorism movement.

Hold on..... someone's at the door .....

they are using data mining programs to find complex patterns and relationships between people via the text messages.  They are using the text messaging data to predict future events.

I think he's trying to not get killed while at the same time trying to move things in the right direction. We need a leader that isn't afraid of getting killed!

I routinely represent Mexican nationals in drug cases in Federal court.  The DEA thinks EVERYTHING is code for drugs.

What exactly do you think has happened to your rights? Did you get arrested due to NSA taps?

2014-01-16 08:38:31 PM
This is impossible.  Obama.... change.... hope....

How's Obama doing with closing Gitmo?  Ending the assault against the 4th Amendment?  Cutting a defense and intelligence budget that grossly out of control (he hasn't even suggested any real cuts-- let alone fought Congress to get any).

He's been so busy pursuing Obamacare and champion minor issues like gay marriage and nutritious school lunches that this so-called Constitutional scholar has sat by while the neocons continued to urinate all over the Constitution.

He's owned by the same corporations that had their hands up Bush's ass.

You know as well as I do that as much as you hate much of his social agenda, Rand Paul is one of the handful of people in DC who stands for something other than a profit.

Who's with me?

Imagine the sweet history we'll have in several decades. Just imagine, some day the NSA will open its archives, and we'll get to read "<3 evrydy lyf of a 15 YeAr 0ld gurl <3" back in the early noughties.

The NSA may seem all "invadin' yo privacy and sh*t" these days, but trust me, it is a blessing in disguise.

It's really important for everyone to remember that Snowden is the real criminal. Everybody already knew everything the NSA was doing, and its all completely and totally legal. Also, nobody could ever use this information against anyone because its illegal to collect and is inadmisable in any court of law. And revealing its existence pits all in mortal peril.

And that is why we must hate Snowden, who also by the way is a stupid highschool dropout who is just doing this because he's a narcissist, and anyhow he lives in Russia now which is worse, and therefore America fark Yeah.

You forgot that the only people complaining are those who have something to hide.  They're just as dangerous as al Qaeda or the Taliban, and probably don't even like the NFL.

Pretty sure subby doesn't understand the concept of "approaching".

"Nearing" is approximately "approaching."  "Nearly approaching" is meaningless.

In college I'd IM my roommate about breakfast.  Usually because we were both hungover.

But the girls are probably gossiping about a third girl.  Or also hungover.

Can't we hate them both? That's kinda where I'm at with this. And I hate everyone getting all mightily outraged at people they imagine would defend this.

So any more planned terrorist attacks in the US should be caught ahead of time.
Unless they were planned by our spooks.
