.385     I have had this on since July, takes a BAC reading every 39 minutes. If it detects alcohol, probation violation and I can sit in county for the remainder of my sentence (330 days)

In PA it has to be within 2 hours of the arrest, so you're still only looking at a 0.16 or so at the time of arrest.

I wouldn't expect someone with 4 DUIs to act like that at only a .16.

And how much time have you spent wondering how you an defeat it?

I'm not judging, but if I had one of those I would probably have spent a lot of time thinking about that.

Duuuuude!!!  Do Not Party On!!!

.385, that's major draino action, what the fark were you doing?

Got busted after a wedding reception with a ,12, in the late 80's.  Day of the hearing, my lawyer went up and discussed it with the prosecutor, came back to where I was sitting and laughed, saying that there was going to be no problems.  My case got called, prosecutor laid out the case, arresting officer testified that I had cooperated and caused no problems (the cop was cool), my attorney told the judge what a great person I was, and that I had no prior convictions, the judge actually began joking around with me, told me to behave myself and gave 1 year probation and a fine, telling me that after the year the conviction would be off my record.  I think shortly after that everything changed, and it was no more mister nice guy, after that.

I 'll bet that gfid would spent alot of time in county thinking about why he thought he could defeat the ankle bractlet.  The people who design those things have the benifit of all the ways that have been tried before.  When it comes to ankle bracelets the designers  are probably a lot smarter than the wearers.

gfid is not that stupid.  For one, I don't have  one of those, but I'm sure they've thought of all the obvious tricks.  It still doesn't mean I wouldn't ponder ways to trick it if I did get one.  Whether or not I'd be foolish enough to actually try is another question entirely.

True,  you didn't say you would actualy try.   A friend wears one, and doesn't play any games because the stakes are too high. ( location only, not BAC)  If it loses contact with the monitoring station it will begin to vibrate.  He then has only a few minutes to contact the monitoring staiion to report his location.   There are some places he is prohibited from going, for obvious reasons, but ther are some places his is not allowed to go simply because the system can't track him there.  A specific Home Depot is one of those places.
One time it began to vibrate while he was in the court house.

None at all actually. Not worth the effort on my part. It was annoying for the first month and now I forget that it is even there. The only really shiatty part was that I have a pool and was not able to swim it in. Also have a retriever and was unable to play in the creek with him either.

Probably M.A.D.D. and lowering the legal limit.   I don't have any problem with M.A.D.D..  Also, after your 3rd DUI you should lose your license for life.

I think what I was trying to say, was that the attitude of the police and legal system changed very soon after that, and there were no more, "Oh well, boys will be boys! Now get out of here, you knucklehead!" outcomes.

I see what you mean.  I've probably been given a break for having a clean record before and I've heard if you've got even one small strike they can get nasty with you or might at least scrutinize you more.  It shouldn't be that way.  If you paid you fine and spent your time you should get all the same considerations as I do.
