(Today)   World's largest vinyl record is spinning atop the Forum in Inglewood. Those aftershocks you felt this morning were because some idiot bumped the side of the building   (today.com ) divider line

If I wasn't scared of heights, I'd try to get up there and go all Mixmaster Mike on that.

When everyone in the band is eligible for Social Security it is time to stop, before somebody breaks a hip.

I saw a show there a few years back ("The Dead", the post-Jerry iteration of the old GD boys).  before the show started i was on the floor at, had the basketball floor been laid, midcourt.  It was pretty awesome to think of JOrdan v Magic, Bird v Magic, Wild, Shaq and Kobe, etc., all the incredible sprots history that went down there, to say nothing of Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, the Kinks, all those incredible concerts that went down there.

Place is still pretty "intact", although outdated as fark.  none of the modern amenities which is of course why Staples was built.  Awesome history though.

Now that Hollywood Park is torn down or at least out of business, I can only surmise within 3-5 years someone is going to tear the Forum down.  that is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge chunk of real estate -- albeit in run-down and rather sketchy Nothing Good In Inglewood.  that is just a massive piece of real estate, between the Hollywood Park footprint and its parking, and then the Forum and its parking.  tons of money to be made there.

I had that as a kid. The "My Grandfather's Clock" record used to scare the shirt out of me when I was little. But I couldn't stop playing it. I'd play it and then go hide behind the chesterfield until it would stop playing then I'd go and play it again.

Creepy nursery rhymes we heard as children that haunt our adult dreams.....I remember when I found out that Alouette was a rhyme about pulling the head off of a lark.

So they're "the" Eagles now? I thought they were adamant at being just "Eagles".

The article states they just dumped $100 million into the Forum for renovations, doubt it's gonna be torn down anytime soon.
